With Ygra out:
Savvy hunter and expiremental confectionner allow you to draw your whole deck by saccing two critters you dont need.
Viscera seer allows you to scry infinitely with the confectioner as well.
You could theoretically scry thru your whole deck for exactly what you need and then draw it.
Man, that confectioner goes HARD in this deck.
Great video! Thanks for putting this together so quickly. I appreciate the myriad (as in lots, not the keyword, although there was a little of that too) strategies this commander supports. I'm excited to build this commander and will keep coming back to this video for inspiration!
Comments like this make my day, thank you so much!
Clock of omens + took + anything that taps to make a untaped token. You can tap the two token you make to untap the token maker
Nuka-Cola vending machine makes every food sacrificed generate a trasure
This is a really great video! Some creative suggestions here I’m not seeing other places so I really appreciate the huge amount of cards and strategies you listed! It helps brewing a lot. I feel like Ygra just combos so well with way more than I expected lol
Great video! Really thorough! Good work!
@@jarowimy161 thank you so much!
Great vid, given me plenty of ideas for my own deck!
Quick point on academy manufacturer - I don’t think it triggers off of creature tokens, since It’s ability activated when they’re created not when they enter, so they’re not food yet (at least that was the way it was explained to me!).
Edit: I’d also recommend chittering dispatcher as a decent card - it doesn’t make any crazy combos but it’s definitely good as a setup card - gives some ramp, and (if you can keep the original alive) 4 creatures to sac a turn
You're definitely correct about Ygra's replacement effect. Any token ETB's that require it to be a food token or artifact won't trigger when something typically NOT a food/artifact token etb. In your Academy manufacturer example, both it and Ygra's replacement effect check to see if they apply at the same time. As academy manufacturer sees that it doesn't apply, Ygra sees something that is now food.
Thanks a lot for this work.
I was about to make an ygra deck, and you gave me all i needed (my bank account will hate you btw)
Do you have a deck list you’re following or made for Ygra??
I'm not sure Hum of the Radix works as a hate piece here unless the opponent is playing an artifact deck. Ygra doesn't turn the creatures into artifacts until they hit the field.
Can someone help me with a decline for this cat. I’ve got a few of the cards he mentioned but I’m not the best when it comes to building for the cheap too🙏
You forgot voltaic key and the like
Disciple of the vault makes a sweeper so gross
I thought tokens don't go to the graveyard
They do. But once they hit the graveyard they cease to exist
@@knucklesando3433 ah thank you this makes this so much stronger
Would witch's oven work well with ygra?
@@urick15 it's fine, but familiar would be sick
The creatures are not tokens, they are food.
Foods are tokens.
Not all. It's very specific.@@jessesandburg
No, Food is type @@jessesandburg
Cards in the deck make tokens, ygra doesn’t turn things into tokens
Food is a subtype not a token
They're food artifact as well because a food is an artifact plus whatever else it is
wait are you telling me that free sac outlets go infinite?!
ygra is a good card but it requires a black and green mana for generic so it's hard to cast plus it has a weird mechanic called ward
Theres a lot of Dual B/G lands to help, plus ward isn't so difficult. Ward means if an opponent wants to target that creature with an attack or spell, it must pay the cost stated after, which for Ygra means they have to sac a food.
The list doesn’t load?
Ahhh forgot to change it from private, should be all set!
only problem im thinking is it will never be competitive as making everything into a food artifact.... just makes docside extortionist INSANE and ur not in red so you cant play it urself. i dont play cedh tho but little things like that turn me off. made the deck as my current golgari one suckeeeddd so i pulled it apart. feels like a good commander and is fun and interesting for the whole board
you have to realize a strategic play style reduce variety of gameplay
But isnt that a bit op if you can win with 3 cards in multiple ways wo your enemy being able to do anything? Isnt that boring?
There's a lot of ways your opponent can foil any of these combos and Ygra takes a lot of mana to cast, so you can't do any of these things until several turns in anyway. None of these really trivialize the game and make it impossible to beat the deck
