You can't go wrong with this mod. I you wish to have more sound, then don't hesitate one minute. It's not as bad as the Eisenmann Race, but still close in comparison.
Only problem my shop is seeing with this is how do you ensure proper weld on the bottom of the pipes if only the top is open? My shop is saying they will have to open the bottom and the top. Any help would be appreciated.
Soon im going to the the MOD to my m3 e92 and ill trust you becouse im realy considering about the quiet part when example im on the highway drving 100miles without agresive on the gas and the car is like when u hit a kickdown .
Simple! I didn't! :) We managed to weld 75%. I did not mind it, as the fitting is very tight and even at 75% welded, I don't believe there is more than 5% loss... Into the muffler! So it's very good IMO. Andre
Ahhh! Thought maybe he did something like this to the solid pipe first, and welded the inside, the folded the flaps back and did the outside. www.e90post.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=951028&stc=1&d=1386799321
Hey thanks for the reply. So are you saying it's ok if the weld is 90%. Is that what was done to this car? Problem is this city has nobody else who will do it. If you think its alright then i am gonna tell them to go ahead the way you suggest.
Hello, According to you what would be the result of the same transformation of the exhaust of the new M4 which has a bi-turbo engine? Thank you in advance. Belgium/Europe
Exactly the same! Turbos need back pressure but I'm 99% sure it's ok since it's just the exhaust which is located completely at the end of the exhaust line.
Hey Karim, I don't believe so. I did not dyno before and after so there is no way to know for sure. IMO, this mod will only allow you to get more sound, that's it. If you want real HP, then change the exhaust from front to end + a new free flow air box. Only then will you start gaining real HP.
+andre martin hobbs Thanks! I was worried when driving in traffic it would have that low hum (drone) noise...under 3k rpm. Thanks for tip! Do you know how much they would charge this at a muffler shop?
Merci pour la réponse je vais me clancher sa apres ma run. Pas de check engine et pas trop de perte de pouvoir a bas régime ?? aussi t'Es sur 12 pouces chaque sa fait long non???
Dave Silva Hey Dave,Yep, I thought about it! But after looking it up on forums, poeple who went this way had issues and needed to reopen the mufflers...The reason for this is that the clamps used to hold the wrap were untightening because of the vibration. I didn't want to risk reopening them :)CheersAndre
The question itself is mind-boggling! Hope they are not too experienced... Do they now they are asking you to open your muffler on both sides to make sure there are no exhaust leaks... INSIDE the muffler?? Even if the weld is 90%, what gives? You are replacing a tube full of holes! Wow, I'd think twice before going to them. Or maybe they like your wallet more that you, that's possible as well... Good luck mate
thanks a lot of the quick reply. Will just need to find somewhere that will carry this out for me here in scotland.
Definitely coming to see you guys for this mod this summer!
Ok thanks after im done the mod im gonna post some videos . :) Greetings from Poland

Its nice to see fellow montrealers that are also bmw fans.
What shop was this done at?

Hi Sim, no drone at all!
What would happen if you didn't put the fiberglass back into the exhaust?
is it just the fact now you made the pipes straight that is improving the sound? Will this be the case for e46 as well?
perfect thanks man! wish I could have you do it but i'm too far :(
Great work and great vid!
nice vid, hey te rappele tu de la longeur exacte des 2 tuyau que tu as fais sur mesure et aussi la grosseur est-ce que ses bien 2.5
hey can you please tell me what amp his mig welder was running on while welding the muffler shut?
Soon im going to the the MOD to my m3 e92 and ill trust you becouse im realy considering about the quiet part when example im on the highway drving 100miles without agresive on the gas and the car is like when u hit a kickdown .
Where do you get the cutting tool?
Impressive nice mod lovely sound :P
Well done! How did your guy manage to weld the whole circumference of the solid pipe in such a tight space?
Simple! I didn't! :)
We managed to weld 75%. I did not mind it, as the fitting is very tight and even at 75% welded, I don't believe there is more than 5% loss... Into the muffler! So it's very good IMO.

Did you only replace 2 of the inner tubes? What would happen if you replaced all 4 inner tubes?
Hey there,
We only did what you see in the video. I don't remember as it's been a while now... :)
Cheers
Andre
How much would you charge me to do it on my car?
thanks for the quick response, but do you think you may have lost any power?
@bulgaboi Not much but your welding would have to be done properly.
Great mod! How much did this cost you?

You think this can work for an e46 m3
Nice sound, what about power did it increase.

will this cause drone at about 2.5-3k rpm?
I've driven it for about two years and never had any issues / drone!

Great vid!
