  • Steve Morgan had followed the evolution of the Atomic Hard crankbaits since they were a twinkle in Michael Starkey's rum-soaked eye. Riding them to a victory in the 2009 BREAM Grand Final, he offers his opinion on this bream catching machine.

Those cranks are dynamite on Redfin along weed beds.

Hi, just getting into bream from trout fishing. I have a bunch of rapalas and US style shad crankbaits. What features in this lure make it perform better than say a floating rapala?

With respect I think you may have missed the target point of these lures. And at the moment 20% off atomic at bcf 👌👌 would by atomic over rapala any day of the week

I don't think i made my point clear. I understand these are for bream and they are small for that reason. What im trying to say is for their size they are quite pricey for what your actually getting. Considering other lure manufacturers using the same materials and processes in the manufacturing of their lures and can sell larger lures that use far more plastic and larger and thicker gauge hooks for a cheaper price point. I only mention rapala because their lures are quite pricey.
20% off of a rip off is still a rip off

There’s probably only a few cents worth of raw materials in any lure. You pay for the factory, time, freight, markups, R&D retailer markups and marketing. Or you start carving your own....

Yeah, I can't justify paying that much for a little piece of plastic. I've bought hardbodies off ebay for $3 - $5 for a couple and they work very well. A pack of 3 from Kmart work well too. $20+ for one lure is painful, especially when you lose them. May as well drop a $20 note into the water and watch it drift. Mr. Morgan has gear thrown at him (he's earned it), he won't mind losing a few. Where I have to work almost an hour to make the cost of that lure. Good video though
