    I had braces as a teenager (i think they were removed too soon). Now 45 and for the first time in my life i had a dentist tell me that i have a deep bite! I've had a lot of issues with teeth wear down in last 10 years or so, but until now no dentist had ever mentioned my bite. I had allows though overjet (which i don't have) was over bite so didn't realise there was an issue. I could have been doing something about this many years ago and avoided a lot of issues.

    When do orthodontists focus on fixing a deep bite or overjet during the aligner therapy treatment? Is it towards the end of the treatment or from the beginning? I am on tray 48/72. I’ve spoken to Orthodontist about my bite but unsure what the plan is for my bite. I also recently saw my general dentist for a cleaning and they pointed out my bite for the second time since i last saw them. Thank you for always so detailed on your videos and helping us learn.

      I’m happy to hear the videos are helpful for you and thanks for sharing your experience. The best thing to do is to ask your orthodontist very specific questions. They may be able to share a mock up video with you to show the end point. Keep in mind that the end video is not what your bite will look like exactly. Good luck with your treatment.

    I would love to hear more about too much and too little gums in a future video. For the deep bite, do you find that patients that previously had braces that corrected a deep bite but regressed due to not wearing a retainer are easier to move back into place?

    • @TrayMinder
      @TrayMinder  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Noted. Relapsed cases usually require less time to complete because we are not usually starting from the very beginning.

    You said that people with deep bites often have short faces. Can this be reversed in adults with braces?

    Hello Dr. Bailey, I was told that in order to minimize the burden of one tooth being drilled in IPR, it's better to do IPR in all interdental spaces from 6 to 6 on the front teeth. The orthodontist says that he doesn't use rubber bands or other methods as they move teeth too much and is no good for the gums. It's scary to think about all front teeth being drilled in IPR. He uses rotar for IPR. His explanation was that the machine creates smoother surface. Do you do such extensive IPR?😢

    • @TrayMinder
      @TrayMinder  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question. The ortho plan depends on many factors, including the amount of crowding you have, your bite, and your doctor’s treatment philosophy. Talk to your doctor if you need more clarification and information.

      @@TrayMinder Thank you for your response. I'm going to visit another couple of orthodontists and will compare and discuss. The problem is that they don't really want to discuss before a thorough examination including imaging, and the cost is 200 euros each time. I hope I find one soon.

    Quick question: I am on a 2 weeks schedule on Invisalign but I wish I could change to a 1 week. Is there any medical criteria for choosing 1 week or two weeks? Invisalign recommends 1 week right now not sure why I'm on a 2 weeks

    I was wondering if you could add more days in the app where you put how many days you should be wearing each aligner. Currently there are only 150 days, but I had to wear the same aligner for almost 9 months. Now that I'm continuing my treatment the dates are wrong since I can't put more than 150 days, and I mainly use the app to keep track on which dates I should change my trays. Thank you :)

      Thanks for your suggestion. This may help:
      Treatment Changes
      Q: I need a refinement/extra aligners. How can I reset the parameters?
      Go to the side menu and select "Start a New Treatment" to enter the new parameters.
      Q: Will I lose my records & pictures if I start a new treatment?
      No, all your records and pictures will remain after starting a new treatment. The Calendar tab will fade out days outside of the current treatment.
      Q: Can I adjust the number of days to wear each aligner mid-treatment? What if I skipped an aligner or had to wear an aligner longer than expected?
      Go to the side menu and select "Adjust Current Treatment." Tap on the specific aligner to adjust the number of days to wear. You can even skip the aligner if needed.

    Thanks for the helpful video doctor.. I have a question. Should the upper and lower incisors touch when we bite? Or only the molars should touch?

    • @TrayMinder
      @TrayMinder  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question. Ideal over bite and overjet is part of a “good bite.” The lower incisors typical touch the backside of the upper incisors. Without getting too technical, this “ideal” may not be attainable for some people due to their facial skeletal structure or other dental factors (missing teeth, tooth size discrepancy, etc).

    Hi Dr. Bailey...I'm on aligner 16 and I noticed that my front tooth is turning and making 1 tooth look shorter than the other...do you think I should finish the other aligners to see if they fix it? Your response is appreciated

    • @TrayMinder
      @TrayMinder  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, generally patients finish their set of aligners first and then the orthodontist will evaluate the alignment and bite for additional aligners, often called "refinements."

  • @angelicaarce6975
    @angelicaarce6975 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    So I just got clear aligners but they are my dentist brand and they said I didn’t need attachments but I have an overbite so I found that weird..

  • @alfonsoserna6435
    @alfonsoserna6435 ปีที่แล้ว

    So you to solve the problem and from what I see. It puts aesthetics before function by determining the intrusion of the upper or lower incisors only with the number of teeth shown by the patient and not by their lower facial height or joint determinant. Just for the smile?

  • @DarkVividdream
    @DarkVividdream ปีที่แล้ว

    will intruding the lower front incisors have a affect on the lip position or face in general ?

    • @TrayMinder
      @TrayMinder  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Generally not a great deal but each case is different depending on the person’s skeletal and soft tissue structure.

    minerals don't help with enamel regrowth?

    • @TrayMinder
      @TrayMinder  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question. Although substances like fluoride can help to reinforce and toughen enamel, it's essential to recognize that no product has the ability to regenerate enamel that has already been lost (at this time).
