- In our Tips for travellers series we share with you the cruise port of Mykonos Town in Greece on our wonderful cruise on Explorer of the seas in June 2023.
In this video we get off the ship and take a transfer to Mykonos town on seabus ferry. We walk around the town sharing information and tips and tricks in order to enjoy your port visit.

We were just talking about Mykonos this morning. We hope to visit this year, so thanks for showing us Mykonos as it is now. It doesn’t seem to have changed at all. We enjoyed the tour. Cheers 🍻

Thanks this is really helpful. We cruised to Mykonos once before and tendered into the old port so it's great to know the new cruise port doesn't make life difficult
Thanks Ian. Yes the new port is really only room for 1 ship but the tenders all drop off there and its pretty easy to get downtown as you've seen. Thanks for your comments. Ray
Very helpful. I was wondering how the shuttle bus and seabus worked. And where it is located.
Hi Sandy. The only real way to get to the other side if the bay is the seabus. The main port only accommodates 1 cruiseship so the liklihood is you'll be tendered. In this event the tenders drop you at the port and it is 200yds walk to the seabus dock. When you are there, it's €2 and it'll take you to the other side of the bay(second stop) where as we did you can walk back around the bay and catch the interim (first stop) to get back to the pier. Hope that helps.

Thx Ray, nice film footage. Looks walkable with a walker, as I have to use one. I did not catch the name of where you went on the ferry, what the ferry stop was called to the shops etc.
Hi Chris. There's no name for the emd stop of the port. Just get the bus boat from where the tender drops you. It'll take you basically to the other side of the bay. Our walk back was around the bay itself and we caught the boat back from the mid stop.
@@RaySuesTravelChannel thx for your time Ray. We were booked on the Celebrity Constellation for the recent May 15 sailing, Mykonos was on itinerary, but cancelled it. It was round trip Venice,but it is so inconvenient now to fly into Venice and have 2 nights there, then get down to Ravenna 2.5 hours away. So then one needs a night in Ravenna in case something occurs with the drive there, then on the cruise there were ports that had too much walking for me, with my walker, on the shore excursions, cobbles too. So figured it was too much for me and expensive. So we used our large credit (from a Covid Asian sailing that went pear shaped) for an Alaska Cruisetour, which we just had on the Celebrity Millennium. (Our 4th on same ship). It was great, flew up to Fairbanks, 6 nights on the land tour and the 7 night cruise from Seward down to Vancouver, where we live. Alaska is hugely expensive though, when we were on the tour. At the hotels there was nothing close by to eat, so had to eat in the hotels and the prices were 2 to 2.5 times more expensive than in Vancouver. Taking in to account the 1.35 exchange rate. So take note of that for your future. But it was a lovely trip. Take care and best wishes to you and Sue.
@@chriswilliams6568 Chris sounds great. If you reconsider a cruise in Europe, fly to Bologna. Its only 1 hour away and the cruiseline does a transfer from airport to cruiseport
Hi Ray…I will be on the exact same cruise on Sept 17th so your videos are a Godsend as this is my 1st cruise….I’m wondering does the tender go at different times throughout the day or is it only the once as I’m noticing the queues for the ferry are long 🤔💞
Hi Denise. Thanks for your kind comments. They go back and forth all day, so don't worry about the queues for the port taxi boat. Also we found what looks like a big queue can be consumed on 1 or 2 taxiboats. Enjoy Mykonos. Ray
Which part of Mykonos is the best for restaurants? The place where you tender, or where you take the water taxi?
Hey Glen. The water taxi station was just the start point. If you go over to the second stop, as we did, you can walk back around the bay to the first stop. The number of restaurants were numerous. To be honest it would be pretty easy to just walk back to stop 1 and take your pick on the way. The walk around the bay directly between stops would be 30 minutes.
