Phenomenal B7TL Kickdown | Preserved SF54 TKZ | Ex First Glasgow 32615

Here we ride possibly the best B7TL Gemini I’ve ever heard. SF54 TKZ has some lovely unrestricted kickdown and seat pinning power meaning you can get runs like this.

Great video! These are the last of what 90s kids like me (well those into buses, anyway) would call a proper bus. No eco mode gearbox, no EcoLife or power zapping Voith 5 speed, just proper ZF Ecomat with lockdown for days, nice loud engine, no hybrid drive (though E400Hs are quick and I do like them out of all hybrids) just a normal engine and gearbox, though smaller than you used to get but still not lacking in power compared to the Olympian it replaced. Sadly I never got to drive of these derestricted, only one limited to 40 or 45 mph.

Love the sounds of the Gemini engine, good buses these are. We had 5 of these in Southampton 37161-37165 from new in 2007 but have transferred to Cornwall in the last few years.

First want all euro 3 stock gone as soon as possible. And Stagecoach are going that way too with an order for over 200 new MMCs announced, Arriva would do it if they could. I know they’re prioritsing DAFs to go first then Volvos
The euro 3 era is ending, the industry wants to say goodbye to it
