This all Kendrick was asking his contemporaries when he dropped the "Control" verse....
Iron sharpens Iron and reshapes the landscape of competition
He wanted to everyone to be at their best at all times to continue to push the culture forward
K.R.I.T. responded to Kendrick and didn't apologize
Mississippi STAND UP!!!
He always been better then Cole and catalog better as well that's just the facts 🤷🏿♂️
@@imperialstats been saying this, and he and kendrick are right on par as far as catalogue goes, but if I had to take one I'm choosing Krit, so versatile and he skates on beats effortlessly
"Ask me about this Kendrick shit that he ain't even really even diss me on" Thats not responding to Kendrick, thats responding to fans that wanted there to be beef. KRIT was minding his business and others tried to bring him to start shit and he said 'naw.. I'm good'. I like KRIT and this is probably one of my favorite tracks from him, but to say that this is him standing his ground is missing the point. The song is called Mt. Olympus, he made it to the top and is where gods reside, rap beefs are below his interest which is a better statement without drawing a sword only to put it away like Cole did.
@@pet-purple-panda1634exactly. This is a prime example of why he is one of the rap gods
Nah cole and Krit got that Shi you can actually play in the whip 💯.. nun of that voice changing Bs..
Happy 10th anniversary to the best response record in rap history 🐐
This was the only proper response to Kendrick Control verse. KRIT held it down we in 2024 💎

They sweep this song under the rug. Bodied that control shit.
What ages so well about this song is that it's not just him saying "I'm a good rapper too". He's criticizing the hypocrisy and shallow dialogue about hip-hop. Everybody (EVEN TO THIS DAY IN 2024) just yaps about "The Big 3" and who throws more shots to the point where they forget to actually listen to the music. As well as artists like Krit, Rapsody, 3000 and many many many more.

Think there was like a dispute with whoever was backing the album or something. This song was made for this beat and vice versa. It's a shame really that it was never put out into the world, aside from here, as it was intended.

NEVER FORGET THAT BIG KRIT IS FOREVER!!!!!!!!MULTI TILL THE SUN DIEeeee
2:19 - 2:57 is still one of the most amazing demonstrations of flow I have ever heard. The tuplet shifts are immaculately clean and his delivery never falters. The rhymes are so smooth too, even when they shouldnt be. That last line Tyrants, quiet, and violent come off all like perfect rhymes even though theyre slanted, and the delivery from the 8th notes to triplets and then back is just perfect. He uses every avenue at his disposal to emphasize just the right words in just the right ways. I could gush about Krit for days man, all of this and he still goes so fucking hard rather than sounding like a dork like a lot of highly technical rappers do

How can we have an artist so great that receives this little attention? I get pissed when I see trap rappers, auto tune abusers, fake gangsters and club rappers get more recognition than this dude. It's not only his rapping ability, it's his production as well... I look at Cole, Wale, Kendrick and all the dudes that made it to mainstream around the same time and they are just soaring. His catalog is insane and he produces his own beats...I don't get it. I think a lot of it has to do with him being a southern lyricist and not really having cosign like the other dudes. (Wale, Jay-z, Ross..J cole got Jay-z, and Kendrick got Dre) I think people rather get their lyricism and meaningful music anywhere but the south due to the stigma that southern folk are ghetto, country, and illiterate . What do yall think?
Listen to K-Rino he's the most underrated mc all time
I agree
Cuz he won't sell out...
bruh I'm from N.O. and let me tell ya been following this brother, cold ass ice!!!
The South has produced the greatest rap music since the 90s, just a little hint Outlast & Goodie Mob, No Limit and Cash Money era, Young Money (Lil Wayne) Young Jeezy Thug motivation series and Trap or Die, UGK, 3-6 Mafia, Eightball & MJG, Yo Gotti, Money Bagg Yo, Rick Ross, Plies, Scarface & Ghetto boyz, Young Bucks was the best in G-unit ( I'm from Cashville so I relate)....etc
This is what I thought Cole was going to do... KRIT is elite.
2023 still doesn’t get the respect it deserves
Why do fans need the industry to recognize talent to validate their support? Just support the brother. Shouldn't matter if anyone else notices.
