    The main motive is to pay less for labour. In these times of pandemic most companies are going for compulsory internships and voluntary ones where they don't pay for student workers or pay less

      That’s from the perspective of the employee. From the side of the employer: why should he invest so much money and his own hours teaching somebody a trade when they have very little to no experience of it in the starting? If there are no government incentives, the companies will only hire full time employees because the difference between hiring a full time employee vs an intern would be just around 1000€ but the company would be saving a lot of its time that otherwise gets used in training somebody from 0. As an employer myself I find it to be completely normal. This way the government ensures people are supposed to complete an internship as a part of their studies are still able to find an internship.

    Interesting fact , yet the saturation in German economy is too much that , students having pflichtpraktikum , yet not finding internship and its making it difficult .
