Hi Marena, can you tell me please, have you ever used DAS AIR DRY CLAY? I would like your opinion on it if you have used it, and if you used it, what did you create with it? Thank you for the wonderful videos. I love your accent it is wonderful.
Hi Carly, thank you for your kind words! I have used DAS air dry clay. One of the projects with DAS Stone clay is here: th-cam.com/video/sj8s3vaD0Us/w-d-xo.html. In general, I found DAS more suitable for small projects, works well with silicon molds if elements are needed for small projects or mixed media. I use it not very often. It is very different from regular clay. When pandemic started and access to kiln became an issue for the most, I looked for a clay that students can switch to. Out of all I tried, I liked Laguna Mexo the most. I used regular clay a lot and Mexo feels very similar. It allows to use same techniques like with regular clay, can build project up to a foot tall, and when dried it strong enough for decorative objects. And it cheaper per pound vs DAS, Activa, Jovi, Sculpey, etc. Main issue with it, Laguna Clay Co. doesn't promote it well and offers only in US. My list of clays in order of preference: Laguna Mexo, Activa Plus, Jovi, Sculpey in purple bag, DAS, and Mont Marte. My focus is on handbuilding and I'm sure they will perform very differently on the wheel. This is my experience so far. I'm trying to build projects from different clays to see where they shine, more likely will find more niches for DAS as well. Marina.
Projects in this video built from air dry clay and I painted them with acrylic paints. If you build pumpkin with regular clay then will need to glaze it.
Great effect and lovely final outcome.
Thank you for teaching us. You are very pleasant and explain very good, every step.
This is cute I've never seen a little one. Great share!!!😁😁😁
That is amazing, thanks for sharing this 😊👀

I really enjoy this technique. Are these washable?
Thank you! No, air dry clay projects aren't washable. They are purely decorative. For washable will need to use regular clay and fire it.

❤️ That is a wonderful technique, thank you. Is it possible to use color?
Acrylic paints work very well with air dry clay
Do you put glaze on top of the pumpkins?

@@CeramicsOasis thanks🙂. I am using air dry clay! I didn't know that it was optional to use glaze on air dry clay
How long does it take to make it in real time?
Excluding drying time, took between 20 and 30 minutes each.
Can I ask you which programme did you use for editing the image and text?
For images I use Photoshop, for videos Premiere Pro.
If I'm giving as a gift I would hate for it to melt in water if the person wanted to wash it.
Have to warn the recipient of the gift that it is for enjoyment only 😀
