I drive daily the 1988 S10 my Dad bought brand new in 88. Red, iron duke 4 cylinder, 5 speed. Dad took really good care of it and it was in great shape besides faded paint and engine was tired. So I had it repainted bright red again and the engine rebuilt. It looks brand spanking new again. Dad passed away last year and left it to me so I been driving it full time now. With gas so high I’m glad I have it now. Mine has the 2.5 fuel injected 4 cylinder and 5 speed. The 5 speed trans is still original and hasn’t been touched accept for new fluid. But it’s the best looking S10 in town now and drives like a dream 👍🏻
I am looking into buying an '83 s10, it is basically a project car, under a grand, should tell you a bit about it, probably needs a ton of work but yeah, trying to do some research into it to see what might be wrong with it, what I need to look for before taking a look at it
1989 4x4 reg cab with a 2.8 L 5 speed was my first vehicle. Love that truck. If it wasnt for salty roads I bet it would still be running today. 255k when the body was toast.
I’m 21 and I just bought my first truck it’s a 1989 4x4 2.8l 5 speed. 200k miles. I’m an auto body technician and I plan on doing bodywork and paint soon and flipping it but I’m conflicted because it’s so fun.
I have 1993 s10 4.3 auto swb 2wd had it since 1994 original motor rebuild transmission years ago still runs good beside tht I have owned 4 other s10 very good trucks
Yo that is a dope ass truck. Ya know they made a model of s10 in the early 90s that was the fastest production truck in the world at the time.i think it was called a syclone.
I have a Nugget Gold 1982 Chevrolet S-10 Sport .. haven't seen too many exactly the way mine is . It was a graduation gift . And now kind of a project vehicle. Soon I'm going to put it all back to original except the blue interior and silver I'll do black interior with the gold truck.. my uncle once told me was either the first Gold Gen sport produced on the line or with in the first ten .. not sure how many were made on that color .. love that truck though.. the 2.8 isn't the greatest but it still works and turns over after a little while
Wow. They're really stretching it about the engine power. Had several, and they didn't have decent power until the 4.3. Love the trucks overall, though. Simple , when that's what you wanted. The two-tones in these videos are sweet!
They don’t use music like this for there new trucks. Could you imagine this music on a Silverado 3500 commercial. I love the music here it’s just so different for a truck commercial.
I wish you could download the music. Hahaha. It's so great to listen to. I sometimes cue up the video just to play music in the background. Hahaha. S-15 for the win. We had one. Great truck.
Bought an’83 model brand new, put nearly 300,000 miles on it…..Here we are 40 years later, and dealing with endless issues with new vehicles 😂 - go figure

It's a lot of power to what they had in the early 80s. That's a lot for a compact.
