A man who posed with you is Wangchen. He is from Kham, Dege. Chengdu is a Chinese city, so without any doubt they are there in large numbers. Most of the dancers are well kept, smart, slim and fit bodies

Is it true that today there are more Chinese than Tibetans in the Tibetan regions ??? Most of the gorshey participants are looks like local Chinese, because they are not in Tibetan dress, chupa , only few Tibetans in the gorshey with chupa on…. You see here mostly 90% are not in chupa, only 10% Tibetans with chupa in the gorshey…..is this gorshey taking place in Tibet OR in China??? Anyway whether Chinese or Tibetans, everyone is dancing very well!!

You should maybe google the data 📈! Besides doesn't matter whether people are American, Canadian, Russian, Australian, Chinese or Tibetan, or whether they’re wearing traditional Tibetan dress or not. Enjoying a gorshey dance shows a shared appreciation for cultural practices that goes beyond ethnic or dress distinctions. As the saying goes, "one shouldn’t judge a book by its cover "; it's the shared experience and joy that truly matter. Everyone has different opinions!

I agree but I’m afraid Tibetan culture and music will be heavily influenced by Chinese. The uniqueness of Tibetan culture will be long gone and in the distant future it will be very similar to China and just be considered its branch.

​@@Izo5629 I doubt roots will remain "strong" with the cultural assimilation in Tibet or even abroad. Everything is subject to change and in this case our culture and traditions. I guess what I'm sad about is Tibet did not get the chance to transition itself into a modern nation and its culture will be "nurtured" by an imperialist nation. #Bhoegyalo
