We visited Gardenstown/Gamrie for our last holiday as a family in August 1986 (my parents, sister, aunt and uncle, and me) just before my 18th birthday. It was a trip down memory lane for my father, who'd holidayed here as a child in the late 40s'early 50s. I remember the steep descent to the beach.

I used to sit with my Grandfather every Saturday Morning watching this on STV when I was a child. These uploads have brought back my memories of those simpler times. I can’t thank you enough for taking the time to share these precious windows to the past. God bless.

I was just in Pennan from Michigan last summer/fall for a visit during our honeymoon. It's a major location (as mentioned by Tom) in the film, Local Hero, which my father and I used to watch together. A year after my dad passed in 2019, I was married and we brought his ashes to Pennan, where he now rests among the rocks at the base of the jetty. I will always love that beautiful town, and I hope to return to visit it and dad. This was a great video to find. Thank you for posting.
