It's pretty a nice idea but i have to say - when you turn player activate to true you still can get the items even ur not holding the prompt effect - when you turn player activate to false you cannot get the gear (not like buttons, global properties,...) idk if mario has fixed that bug or not but that's just my best solution

You can add prompts to Gear blocks directly i think
Dont need to use a mech to do it
