Dear Bimol sir. I really admired your profound knowledge and I also found that you are a fine orator and a far sighted man. I have never come across such a person like you and oja sonamani amongst the people of manipur, be it in the meities community or the tribals community. What ever I heard, they all spoke about 'ism' as you have mentioned in your speech, instead of solving the problems they added fuel to the fire be it big or small, this is one of the reasons why so many unwanted incidents took every now and then amongst the diffrent ethnic groups living in manipur. To be precise, meities are being addressed as majority ethnic group in manipur and yes the meities are majority no doubt. Sometimes When I do an assesment of the majority way of thinking and behaviour there seems to be lots of lapses found in it. Our meities brothers and sisters are over emotinal, very fanatic and at the same time very impulsive. These are 3 points are important things that our meities brother should be aware of and re-evaluate what has gone wrong with it. I m not not defending the behaviour of the tribals but as an advanced people it is your duty to teach the tribals and supports to improve way of living and etiquette in consonance with this modern world. I generally like his views. But I would suggest him to address the Hill -Valley divide/difference in development keeping in mind a) how many universities, Medical Institutes/hospitals, technical institutions, infrastructures are there in Valley & Hills, b) why roads to District HQs, Sub-Divn HQs are so dilapidated? c) why police stations in hill areas are deserted? d) why Govt H/Schools in hill areas are no longer functional? e) why all good colleges are concentrated in Imphal valley? and f) why all State Govt Department offices are confined within Imphal town?
Such a pragmatic visionary...Tragedy is the state of Manipur could NOT utilise his vast knowledge base for its own good. One thing is for sure - he will not be popular among the state politicians!
Workable solution is 'creating institutions (of state government as well as private/non-profit organizations) with clear objectives of achieving the specific identified vision'. Failure of having structures/institutions is the cause, Meiteis acting individual capacity can't go beyond a limit.
