Friends, just a reminder that I’ve never mulched this side garden. Only used compost to dress it up. I have plants that reseed every year, and the heavy mulch would suffocate the seeds and stop germination. So every spring this area looks like this and I’m ok with it. It’s a sacrifice I’ve made. But this spring i caved and mulched heavily. Just don’t have that kind of free time anymore to weed all season, so I sacrificed the seeds 😅
Every time I check your blog, your garden gets prettier and prettier. You’re doing a wonderful job. It gets me exited to garden also. Keep up the good work.
I very much appreciate that unlike so many others on TH-cam, you’re not always working in a perfect garden. I don’t have to feel like a failure because there are weeds or plants growing weird because I didn’t stay on top of it. Beauty isn’t perfect

Helpful hint and $$$ saver- I use old flat sheets in my garden to put the weeds on while I weed. Then I can drag it to my compost bin. They can hold a LOT of weeds or branches. I loved this relaxing video-between the sound of the water fountain and the crowing of the rooster one would never know that you are living in a city.

In last video I posted, my husband and I were mulching flower beds, and he asked me why I have weeds growing there. Well, those were not weeds at all, fox gloves and canterbury bells I started from seed last year 🤣🤣🤣 He told me he would of just pulled them out if I was not there 😆
