Have you ever wanted to wander into 221B Baker Street and smell Sherlock's tobacco wafting through the air? or hear the horse-and-buggies on the cobblestone outside? This is something I sought after and discovered it didn't exist...so I made it. It's an all-in-one ambience package. I've included everything from horse and carriage to subtle pipe smoking noises to the gentle murmur of a crowd and everything in between.
This version includes appropriate music. If you would like to know the songs, just ask!

I especially like how the first soundtrack is the one that plays inside Holmes's and Watson's apartment in most of the Sherlock Holmes games from Frogwares ❤
Those games were largely my inspiration!
I'm so impressed with this! The voices from outside are exactly what one might expect from Victorian London cab and coach drivers and impatient pedestrians, and well spaced as well. The subtle indoor sounds are the best, it really feels like the original Holmes is flipping through papers and quietly puffing his tobacco right next to me. Thank you for this, what a great experience this video is!
@Charlotte Schreffler jeremy Brett was the ultimate Sherlock Holmes and a fun fact Jeremy requested that his Holmes doesn't do drugs because he know kids thought of Sherlock Holmes as a hero and role model.
I can picture Jeremy Brett as Holmes while listening to this. Holmes standing by the fire contemplating losing his one and only case to 'The Woman' AKA Irene Adler
This video (btw) is themed after a series of Sherlock Holmes PC games, Sherlock and Watson in the game are modelled after the 80s tv show.
I'm impressed by the sound of Big Ben striking midnight aboutt twenty minutes in. From them on the carriages get fewer and fewer, and the dog's barking becomes less frequent.
You would have to have bloody good hearing to hear Big Ben from Baker Street even then , Its probably one of the local churches on Marylebone Road
I'm a lover of Sherlock Holmes and Victorian London. Listening to this on a snow-covered winter day in Michigan while working on my computer is so pleasant and relaxing. Great video. Thank you!
I am so happy that you got this from the game "Sherlock Holmes", one of the games in the series being "Crimes and Punishment". I tried so hard to capture it but couldn't. Sometimes I just sit in the game and enjoy the ambiance. This makes that a lot more accessible haha.

I like how none of the elements--inside sounds, outside sounds, the music--overwhelm the others. This was delightful! The details were wonderful. I am a huge fan of Sherlock Holmes. I can picture him and Dr. Watson playing a game of chess while enjoying a cup of tea Mrs. Hudson has brought them.

I just finnished the book of Thomas Keneally, while reading sherlock holmes book the music started playing, I stopped, shut the book and took my time to continue because I still sad about everything I read, beautifull book btw.
It's gorgeous! I had to play it to Google to find out what it was... It was nice when I associated it with Sherlock Holmes, but now when I watch this video all I can do is picture people being murdered in black and white... *Facepalm* lol

This is what I wanted from an ambience video. Not just repeated sound that not change for 3 hours later only with rain + fireplace but the title said "you are at library of *victorian* house and its rain" wtf

This is exactly what I have been looking for--the ambiance along with appropriate music. There are a lot of great ambient videos out there but they lack a corresponding musical sound track that pulls the whole thing together. I just listened to this three times in a row while reading The Victorian City by Judith Flanders. Wonderful!
