I grew up on a ranch and one day I saw this piglet running around and playing with the other piglets in the litter and she kept dodging them and making them fall over and everytime she did she would jump up, almost for joy. I will say it seems as if animals understand things like us at times.

Ok so the octopus, ravens and racoons arent even in the tier list. For real now octopus ravens and racoons deserve more to be in the tier list than bumblebees since they all hold a better place in the meta they are playing. The octopus for example has the highest stealth stat from the game since they can literally change their skin color and shape while also having an ink grenade just incase they get caught by predators. They also have a high inteligence stat letting them use tools to their advantage. Ravens know how to use tools making them have the same inteligence and maybe even higher dexterity than parrots. And racoons can travel through many places blocked by the humans with ease.

werwar666 bc the pig had to think, "ok what do i do instead?" and then it tries knocking the object over (or some other animal might try picking it up, or just touching it, or sniffing it - to figure out what the handler wants) so the feedback prompts the animal to think "what do i do now? let's try this..." such a technique is used for many animals, often for more complex tasks that need multiple steps in learning (the steps in learning then would have the animal think about how to figure out what is expected.. so it has to approximate the final behavior while getting feedback.. apparently the film team didn't have time to have the pig learn a more complex task) in any case u have to give feedback to the animal bc they can't read the handler's mind of what they want. they need to come up w something that gives a positive reaction.

Because there have been dozens of studies in dolphin intelligence. Dolphins use those squeaks as communication and identification. They are able to use their echolocation in order to identify what they want and communicate it. It's pretty sad that people are downplaying the amazing intelligence of dolphins and whales. They are some of the smarter animals in the world and one of the few capable of self recognition.

For everyone asking qhy bees are on here: Bees are actually quite intelligent for insects. Their form of communication is extremely complex and they have the ability to adapt to threats. The Asian hornets that invaded the US are an invasive species and were killing scaths of native honey bees. But then, the honey bees adapted to the Asiatic hornets methods and actually created a new strategy to handle them. If a scout hornet was spotted approaching, the native bees would alert the colony by emitting an alarm pheromone, releasing swaths of honey bee drones would swarm the intruder and cover them. They then begin vibrating the same way shown in this video to raise their body temperatures, sometimes causing death asphyxiation or by repeated stings from the bees. This causes the horneg to die as they can't handle the high temperatures but some of drones would survive because they are built to handle higher body temperatures. This was not a taught behavior, it's something they developed on their own in order to protect their colonies. They have also developed other forms of defense against them as well, such as creating defensive barriers to prevent entry into the colonies. This is a form of intelligence too. Most humans have to be taught things, but only some develop something worthwhile. Not everyone is like Sir Isaac Newton or Albert Einstein. Most people go to school to recycle information developed by others.

Ask any farmer who has raised pigs and they know how smart they are. We went through 6 different types of pens and fencing to keep them in. It's not just pushing out, they figure a way out. Same with the wild boar situation in Texas (overpopulation and ruining land)... No poisons or traps work for long cause they figure out how to beat it.
Maybe there's also an elephant called Nellie ? It's just a name lol. This list isn't complete. It's missing crows and octopuses and/or squids. Probably types of apes/monkeys too. It's obvious why humans are missing lol. They are clearly talking about non-human animals.

As a biologist that specializes in animal intelligence I can tell you the 5 most intelligent animals on earth are 1. Homo sapiens. Second are the Bonobos. Third are the orangutans. Fourth are the chimpanzees. And fifth are the Homo sapiens living in the United States.
Bizarre! 4 out of 5 animals were judged against basic human understanding. Only the bumble bee was appreciated for traits that no human can perform. A pig that is trained to spell ham? (Really?) Dolphins that can read a menu? Birds that can mimic human speech? Elephants trained to cooperate in order to get fed? Where's the most intelligent human: who can smell a truffle, three feet underground? Einstein couldn’t do that basic pig skill (the human genius, not the comical Tennessee parrot trained to mimic human words).
This was fascinating, but the 5 smartest animals ? We understand so little about many animals at present, so to put them in order isn't viable.....the queen bee is just well adapted. The more we learn the more interesting our fellow animals become 🙂
The bumblebees are not intelligent. This is simple evolutionary adaptation, not problem-solving. Winner: The two elephants, who solved a new problem from scratch rather than being trained to do a trick.

As a biologist that specializes in animal intelligence I can tell you the 5 most intelligent animals on earth are 1. Homo sapiens. Second are the Bonobos. Third are the orangutans. Fourth are the chimpanzees. And fifth are the Homo sapiens living in the United States.
Bizarre! 4 out of 5 animals were judged against basic human understanding. Only the bumble bee was appreciated for traits that no human can perform. A pig that is trained to spell ham? (Really?) Dolphins that can read a menu? Birds that can mimic human speech? Elephants trained to cooperate in order to get fed? Where's the most intelligent human: who can smell a truffle, three feet underground? Einstein couldn’t do that basic pig skill (the human genius, not the comical Tennessee parrot trained to mimic human words).
Well dolphins can basically see with sound via echolocation; can sense material densities and look inside things too

This was fascinating, but the 5 smartest animals ? We understand so little about many animals at present, so to put them in order isn't viable.....the queen bee is just well adapted. The more we learn the more interesting our fellow animals become 🙂
The bumblebees are not intelligent. This is simple evolutionary adaptation, not problem-solving.
