Amit, ur example of 2nd hand car losing it's value by as much as 40 to 50% within 2 years is absolutely wrong and ur wrong again about swift 2nd pricing, A car which is high in demand will never loose so much of value, A good example of average value lost would be 10% per annum example Maruti and Hyundai, a tata or Mahindra car might lose about 15% per annum.

Don't go for 50% or 60% depreciation value. Even I've seen 7 to 8 years old cars can be useful. Also don't go for the outlook (ofcourse not telling about rust) go for engine quality and mechanical inspection. Body of the vehicle can become new at anytime by denting and painting like human body. But if the iner system is having fault then what's the value of 'chamak dhamak'🙏🙏🙏
