I gave Essential Office a try and liked it. I don't need a Power Point app and rarely ever use Excel, so the suite really has everything I need, and I like the small size. Thank you for the information.

Does the spreadsheet support VBA macros created using Excel? I assume not - this is why MS Office alternatives are not much use to many of us. If I wish to run Excel macros, I pay for Office 365, which includes Excel, Word, Powerpoint etc.
