Wow!! All these years of collecting comics, and when you explained the difference between a Key and a Classic Cover I realized why my collection looks the way it does!! I have so often for gone buying a key because I just had to spend the money on a cover that grabbed my attention. It’s just another piece of the puzzle in moving me closer to turning the hobby into supplementary income. Please teach me more O’Bry Wan !!!

A friend just received a collection from 1985-1990. Its got most of Mcfarlenes work. The collection is in pretty good condition. The ASM has a slight ding in the left corner. Off-white pages on the majority. Has the Hulk issue. I'm debating if i should get some of these graded.

I wish I would have picked up a ton of Batman 227's back when I was collecting in the early 80's as it wasn't worth anything. .80 in "Mint" in Overstreet #11. I wonder when that book became so coveted?
Hulk 340 has been all over the place though… in 2017/18 it was selling for only $225, then went up to almost $2,000, now back all the way down to only $800… It’s dropping like a stone in a lake.
I always find it an interesting discussion, the fun vs profit argument. I’m more of a set/run/artist collector. Of course that requires getting some big “keys” too. I still need maybe six issues to finish my Vampirella set, including #1
I agree that the first print Knull cover is the best choice. Great list of things that have investment potential along with liquidity. So many dealers do over price their books so it is nice that you do not. I wish you would focus more on raw books because that is what I mainly collect. 😊
At age 60 I’m mostly in that category of not caring what I buy. In a perfect world my 2 daughters will inherit my collection which currently is in the mid 5 figures retail.
For a red hot minute you owned a copy of Iron Man #1 in CHC 9.8. How badly do you want to experience the thrill of holding that immaculate key in your hands? I know I dream about one day owning a copy that would be the Crown Jewel of my silver age collection.
Great video but thee best knull cover is the 3rd print ..!! Short prints and first full cover appearance and full appearance..!!! Love knull cover sit on his throne chair..!!!
Always enjoy your videos. They are insightful and relay common sense. I’ve got a couple of the books on your list. BM 227 is a favourite of mine. Not on your list and not sure how well it sells, is another favourite, Batman 251. I would guess it sells well but maybe not. Thank you for your videos.
