I went and looked up this type of performance and this is part of what it said......"The first to run out of breath or be unable to maintain the pace of the other singer will start to LAUGH or simply stop and will thus be eliminated from the GAME". So how is it that so many people are up in arms over a game. And you can clearly hear one of the gal laugh near the very end. So why isn't anyone saying that she is disrespecting her own culture. Children don't eat everyday in this great country of ours Called Canada how about being up in arms about that.
Are you able to read and comprehend English? Obviously not. It is supposed to be a funny game. It is good that they were laughing.
This has recirculated yet again. Camilla wasn't specifically laughing at throat singing directly. British Royals, especially women, are taught to have an extreme amt of etiquette, reservedness and dignity about them at an incredibly modest style and pace. To have 2 women, any woman period, making these sounds purposely at a public event regardless of culture would seem flat out outrageous.

The point of Inuit throat singing was to entertain their children during long winters to make them laugh. The women would do this together and compete to see who would run out of wind or start laughing. It is meant to be amusing

You are supposed to laugh. It's part of the whole performance. When you do throat singing the goal is to get not only your audience to laugh but the other person you are throat singing with.

Be curious, not judgemental. These are highly skilled Inuit throat singers. The artists are very aware of the honour to be chosen to perform at this event. They are sharing their culture and that deserves respect. Inuit throat singing is a game. The first person to laugh looses, but it also takes immense skill. Also look for examples of Mongolian throat singers who can create harmonics with circular breathing. Saw a performance by a Mongolian throat singing ensemble at a Paris art gallery. Was mesmerizing.

When we were teenagers one of our older friends was killed in a car wreck and we all took a single rose to put in his coffin. Before we could put them in they had the crowd stand and sing more than a couple of times, and the first time the friend to my left sat her rose in her chair so she could hold the hymnal. When we went to sit back down she forgot about the rose and plopped down on it…let out and little scream and came popping back up, grabbed it and quickly sat back down!! We all were dying laughing and the people behind us said that the whole pew we were sitting in was moving back and forth because we were all laughing hysterically!!!!! We would stop, and then someone would make a noise or say something under their breathe about it and we all started again! Good thing he was a comedian himself!!!
