- Pedro Martins’ album “Vox” was one of my absolute favorite releases from 2019. I listened to it countless times and I’m still mesmerized by its unique beauty, deep compositions and great playing by everyone involved. Pedro has a real gift for writing timeless melodies!!
The first time I noticed him was a couple of years ago when I watched this video of him playing Milton Nascimento’s song “Travessia” which really touched me. I kept his name in mind and eagerly awaited his first release.
After this conversation I was so inspired that I immediately wrote a song for him. His pure love for music is contageous. I hope you enjoy our talk as much as I did.

awesome interview !! I think the words "simple" as well as "natural" to describe the quality of melody he talks about will always leave a judging taste in the mouth. I would suggest the word "soulful" - which simply means deep, heartfelt, sincere. Then it can sound like however it should be.

such a great interview! I really appreciate both of you guys coming from such honest and accepting points of view. It’s hard to find that balance between the interviewer having enough musical knowledge to talk shop, and keeping the focus on the interviewee’s thoughts. You do it so well!

There's an ocean of Brazilian songwriters in his music. Beto Guedes, Milton Nascimento, Toninho Horta, Flavio Venturini, Jobim, some Hermeto, Gismonti, and then, Wayne Shorter, Rosenwinkel, his friend Danilo, and Pedro himself of course!
