If they are not you will be able to put back the window and doors and at least have a roof over your heads together.... then you have time to make more plans. This worked out for for all the businesses, farmers and government. The farmers sold them a little square piece of land on their farms. They knew they couldn't build on it because all land for miles is deemed agriculture. So they will get their land back. They bought blocks, cement, windows, doors and etc from town. The government waited til most had built before knocking them down. All that money made by businesses can't be recovered. Money was taxed. Everyone made money from people that didn't go by the law. I sure hope they've all learned from this and not try to build back. Please let them check laws before building again. They've got to be legal or it will be more money wasted again. 😢

The government had a responsibility to notify them of the infraction and proceed in a humane way before it came to this. Now the population is largely displaced with little or no assistance with winter coming. Surely they could of been notified and this done next spring, if it had to be done.

So they have knocked down the houses, just wondering who is going to clear the rubble up and how long before crops are planted on the land, if ever. I wonder how the JCB driver feels at having to knock the houses down knowing that the occupants have very little and most have no where else To go. I've been watching this family since March,all the hardships they've been through and at first I thought it was the only family with so many difficulties but it is a whole you tube industry who take advantage of poor people giving them land which don't own living under poor conditions,away from schools,eating poorly,it's all wrong,in my country gypsies live like that by choice. It seems that these houses were deemed built on agricultural land - land that can be cropped and even those with permits were torn down. The Environmental Dept, allowed some small dwellings to stay because their footprint was small (area they took up) and they were built in the traditional method of stone and mud with thatched roofs so they blended with the environment. All block and cement houses were torn down regardless. There is a great shortage of land that can be cropped and a big population to feed. The sadness is how it was all done... the government should have halted any buildings as they started and certainly never sold permits which they then ignored. The whole thing is a very sad mess with so many people displaced and it is criminal that there is no compensation for these people. Anywhere in this region would be affected. The only thing I can think that may help, if the one remaining room is left without being torn down - if they could clad the walls with natural stone to hide the block work and cobble the courtyard also put thatch over the existing roof - replace windows and doors...it may pass the Environmental Dept. requirements... and would certainly then look traditional. They must keep the footprint (area) small....at least they would have a roof over their heads and be warm and dry while they plan what to do next.

It seems that these houses were deemed built on agricultural land - land that can be cropped and even those with permits were torn down. The Environmental Dept, allowed some small dwellings to stay because their footprint was small (area they took up) and they were built in the traditional method of stone and mud with thatched roofs so they blended with the environment. All block and cement houses were torn down regardless.
There is a great shortage of land that can be cropped and a big population to feed. The sadness is how it was all done... the government should have halted any buildings as they started and certainly never sold permits which they then ignored. The whole thing is a very sad mess with so many people displaced and it is criminal that there is no compensation for these people. Anywhere in this region would be affected. The only thing I can think that may help, if the one remaining room is left without being torn down - if they could clad the walls with natural stone to hide the block work and cobble the courtyard also put thatch over the existing roof - replace windows and doors...it may pass the Environmental Dept. requirements... and would certainly then look traditional. They must keep the footprint (area) small....at least they would have a roof over their heads and be warm and dry while they plan what to do next.
