DVC should do something special for the people that visited the parks this year. Although I think Disney did do much for those in that there are stories of many upgrades.

My only time in a DVC One Bedroom Villa was my Honeymoon in October 2020 at Old Key West!!! It was great. We loved it. Now, this coming up October 2021, we will be staying in a One Bedroom Villa at Saratoga Springs Resort for our 1 year Wedding Anniversary. Can’t wait to check out SSR We are not DVC members though

I am a DVC owner but live in the UK so travel to the US is not possible at the moment. We have bookings for May but not sure if Travel Ban will be over. Our May booking uses banked points from October 19. Have you covered in your many shows anything about not losing points through not being to travel. Thanks
The point about not being able to make these trips or memories without ownership is so true. We don't even own DVC but actually own other timeshares and the same holds true there. We own two Marriott and two Sheraton Vacation Club weeks. Able to take six to seven trips a year to many different locations. None of that would have been possible or as affordable had we not purchased timeshare. Sure we could have done those trips without timeshare, but it would have cost so much more and because of that, we probably wouldn't have been to placed like Hawaii or Aruba or many of the other fantastic vacations that ownership has afforded us.

We just did 4 in 4 days, just to see all the ones we have not done yet. BC, then BW, then Poly, then AKL. All very different, but the BW location is simply the best in all of Disney World property
I wish Pete would not refer to Saratoga like that, with the new rooms, many people including myself really like it. The extensive grounds are a real boon if you like running and walking.

March will be out 10th anniversary of being DVC members. I loved hearing your stories! Our favorite trip was the first trip we took in November 2012. We had a 2-BR at OKW for 5 nights and then moved to a 2-BR at what was then Villas at Wilderness Lodge for 4 more nights. They were filming the WDW Christmas parade while we were there. It was so magical!
As a DVC owner since 1994, I could relate to the memories that you all shared, but Pete's memories were the most relatable. We never could have afforded the family trips we had if not for DVC. The value of the memories created is so much more than the actual cost of the DVC. My only regret is that we did not buy as many points as we could get at the time. What a great discussion today! Thanks!
Our first year was great we bought annual passes.We stayed three times, Sun - Thurs. to save points. But, I would have to say my favorite was 2018, we stayed 2 nights each at SSR, GF, & BR.
Pete is right about not looking back once you stay in a one bedroom. The second time I rented points for a studio (after a great studio at AKV-Jambo House), the room at Saratoga looked and smelled like a crime scene. The cast member at the front desk gave us a complimentary upgrade to a one bedroom.....and now I have a hard time booking anything less.
I have a great one. Was spending 2 days at WDW before going on a cruise with the entire family (nov 2019) We had a two bedroom booked at animal kingdom- last minute the called us and for some reason moved us to an amazing suite (a few weeks later I saw photos of Neil Patrick Harris staying there). I have stayed and the nicest hotels in the world (burj in dubai, George V in Paris) and it was so cool to stay in some place so bespoke ON DVC points.
I’ve been on the fence about joining and going back and forth doing research/looking at resale contracts. It is so true that you can’t put a price on the memories you make. Pete you’ve now got my water works going after the story about your dad. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful memory with us!!!
Definitely plan for a one bedroom. One our first trip it was in a one bedroom. When it was time to plan the next trip my wife tells me "don't get anything smaller than a one bedroom. I didn't buy DVC to stay in a hotel room."
It would be fun to see pictures of everyone's DVC stays throughout the years, especially that trip with Doc and Jesus!!

Totally agree. If not for DVC, I wouldn’t be able to do my yearly Thanksgiving stay. And definitely Pete, the memories are priceless.

Yes. My wife and I were able to gift her parents 3 nights in a one bedroom in Hilton Head for their 50th wedding anniversary.
