@@leaffinite2001I mean I suppose the inconsistency makes sense if you think about it like Zog should've been updated with the same laws at some point, he may be 100 years old and before the code was put in place in modern robots but he *could've* been retrofitted at some point if they did to pre-modern robots. "I'm old school" Ugh I know they had to do it but it'd have drastically improved the stakes of the movie if he actually stomped him. Astro isn't exactly a robot but Rather an android in dragon ball logic. he also like Kiryu in terms that he's never actually killed anyone but he also isn't a saint, nor has he ever considered himself a saint. Which is why when he realizes that the robots he fights either don't have emotions or don't care if he doesn't want to fight, he locks in and holds nothing back despite hating doing it. In that time he's also overcome with rage after being lied to, tricked, ratted out, and used in cruel amusement. He's not just fighting for his life, he's fighting to vent his emotions as in this moment it's the only thing he knows how to do. It's only until Zog shows up that he quits letting his emotions get the better of him and cloud his judgement. The more he fights the more pain it causes him, which is why he turns himself in to Stone, he'd rather die a painless death than to fight his whole life. This movie practically shows Astro going through the 5 stages of grief.
