Just posting an update comment - the failstacks from Fughar are now obtained from the season pass instead. Otherwise this guide is entirely accurate through 2024 now!
Some additional advice: If you fail the tett attempt with fughar's 40 stack, your gear will bounce back to duo, so use the refined stone to get back to tri. It will NOT delete the 40 stack so you can keep going for tett with the same stack as long as you use refined stone to enhance back to tri.' If you fail pen enhance with fughar's 60 stack, store it in a naderre's parchment slot, so you can use it again when you get back to tett. You will now need extra 30-40 stacks to get back to tett, since you used them up successfuly enhancing to tett before the failed pen attempt. One quick way is to convert 200 time filled stones into 30 stacks. Season pass, and leveling aid boxes also give some stacks, as well as some of the main quest rewards.
One thing nobody says: don’t be shy on using materials and failstacks (advice of valks) since the gear you get graduating from the season will be totally different to enchant from the others, and you won’t need anything of what you used while in season
Just realized that I can’t even upgrade my Naru gear to Tuvalu gear because the season ended I spent 3 days making my Naru gear into V all for nothing what a big waste of time 👍🏽

If you have played through the main storyline on a different character and got the Red Sand Crystal Ring x2, Forest's Eye Earring x2, Rock Hard Belt and Tears of the Wind Necklace, you can equip these items on a new season character. This means that if you enhance the accessories to max level (TRI) you can start a fresh season character at level 1 with accessories worth over 70 AP.
Fuck failstacking. Use your Valks, use the other things, use crons. Just get full PEN and then start farming. Buy your upgrades and never interact with this garbage system again.

Awesome guide, in particular on failstacking. I'm a bit too lazy to do this, and I usually end up burning those Valk's Advices from previous seasons to get done with Tuvala gear fast, but I'll definetely try this out next season. As always, thank you!
To avoid frustration, I would recommend getting a spare set of gear to enhance once your main stuff hits TET. I would also recommend to always use the frozen tides blackstone on the awakening weapon since you can not get spares of those with Naru gear. Lastly, do try to enhance your accessories once your regular gear is at PEN if you have leftover materials since you won't lose anything and can still convert them to non-season to gear alts
Who the fuck thought that a shitty upgrade system would be a good idea to make the game 'fun'??? And after you have pulled your guts out to upgrade your starter equipment up to max, who would still have the motivation to put on any other cool looking armor??? You would have to go through the whole process again I presume??? Doesn't that mean I will be stuck with Tuvular to the very end??? I don't want that! I want the cool looking armours from the character creations. I suddenly have no motivation to play BDO anymore. Rather than going through THIS I much rather do something what is REALLY fun!!! I thank you for the really good guide though. I never bothered with the enhancement to level 52 now. Thanks to you I finally have an understanding of it. It was the right decision to ignore it and I will just keep doing so as long as it goes.

I'm a new player trying out bdo for the first time ever and I was so scared of enhancing any of my tuvala gear. With this video tutorial however I was able to learn how all of this worked, something no one else has been able to explain to me and I got all of my tuvala gear up to PEN :D I may have used a bit too many cron stones and advice of valks, but I think it's still worth it for your first set of armor. I think something is not right with how to upgrade Naru gear once you reach PRI and higher. I have spent 700 stones so far trying to upgrade it and its constantly bouncing between I and III, There is def something I am missing, the whole just keep clicking thingie doesnt work at all, I have gone as high as IV but then failed twice and back to I. Same with the weapon. Going to focus in getting everything to I and then look at a new way of approaching this, is possible that they could have changed this recently.
Great guide. I absolutely hate this upgrade system though. It's the reason I refuse to play season servers. I would love to for the rewards but I just can't handle going through the enhancing system anymore, buying gear is just so much less stressful.

I had a hard time understandin failstacks. Plus the switchig to gear I wouldn't necessarily want to get those fails is awesome teaching.

We were talking about it on my stream this weekend... It's an old system from the early 2010s in MMORPGs, but because so many people suffered through it, they can't really change it... I think the Jetina questlines are a nice change though, that definitely help with new players catching up.

So that's how you get better armor an weapons. Here I am with a Naru +8 weapon and all armor at +5 or +6 thinking I'll find better doing quests. Nope.. Apparently, you have to upgrade it all to get better armor and weapons. The things you learn watching videos. Lol Thank you. I now know I can spam upgrade the naru armor and weapons to the next stage, and also what to do to get even better armor and weapons.
So if anyone sees this, I just started the game and am at 57. I have all pieces of Naru at V but in the inventory menu I don’t have those 3 symbols to the left. The sword symbol to upgrade past V just isn’t there for me and I’m so frustrated.
Unnecessarily complicated equipment labeling and a pointlessly complicated equipment upgrade process. If anything turns me off from this game, it will be this factor.
You get so much Tuv upgrade mats that there is no reason not to use 'doubling'. Try to parallel upgrade two pieces of the sane item. You get bigger FS that way and you will be guaranteed to upgrade one of the two to V. - its also less boring. Obviously, get rid of the piece that does not V. You don't want to waste mats on accidentally having two of the same piece to V. Its just for converting mats to FS.
Yes, the Naru accessories in and of themselves are pretty pointless, but thank you for covering their upgrades anyway! I never bother with them so I'd forgotten how to get more of them. There seems to always be at least one season pass objective to enhance those things, so this way I won't get held up in progression there.
You also get a set from fughar if you do the rapid questline available in velia - I didn't know that until after I made the video... dunno why they don't give it in the mountain of eternal winter questline too lol
If only i watch this before starting. I made a lot of mistake and actually PEN all my tuvala with a bunch of resources 😭But thx for the guide, now i learnt my mistakes

So i used the time piece to make another character lvl 60, is there a way i can still get beginner black stones so i can get that narchallin gear/turn into another set of tuvala or do i HAVE to use those exchance coupons and turn my old seasonal characters stuff into weapons i can use on my new one. very to the game sorry if dumb question

Try to not use the frozen tides black stone right away. Use it on your last tet piece of gear, makes upgrading the rest to pen a bit easier.

It's crazy how this video is super efficient in explaining this system and yet it's still 30+ minutes long. This game has always been overwhelming.

Wow! I just started playing this game and it will not let me sign back into the season server. Why is that? I hardly got my gear to Tuvala. Maybe two pieces. What a waste of time.

So i used the time piece to make another character lvl 60, is there a way i can still get beginner black stones so i can get that narchallin gear/turn into another set of tuvala or do i HAVE to use those exchance coupons and turn my old seasonal characters stuff into weapons i can use on my new one. very to the game sorry if dumb question
i'm a new player. my character is lv.56 and is still wearing a ungraded naru belt lol... i was curious about how to upgrade accessories but it seems the game will reward it to you later. thank you.
What if i didnt convert gear etc cause i wasnt not playing during whole season. I ended up with weapon from aweaking quest XD what should i aim for now?

I'm having trouble exchanging the naru gear to tuvala. I'm not on a season character or season server and I think that's why but I haven't found any other way to exchange it outside of a season server

Deleted my comment about losing durability as I noticed once I upgraded to tuvala Pri it repaired all the armor pieces and weapons
Ive been leveling gear as i go, or it best to wait until level 61 to then level as you did? Im lvl 55 and have no beginner black stones left and still need to level a couple of Naru pieces to Tuvela

An update for newer people coming back to this video dont use valks or stuff for tuvala youll want to save that for the boss gear later

I tried to to to fughar to but new naru weapon ,but there are no equipments like those in the exchange in him. Is there a quest to unlock ?
