    interesting video. one good point about silver seeker is that he encourages viewers to call around and get the best price to sell your metals, or get a price to see what your pricing is. i like your method of the little signage that you feature when showing your inventory. i would like to see a more direct price quote with tax if i were to buy from you, whether its gold or silver. the talk of the 1099 b is kinda scary. it makes me want to not buy. yet i know its important to know. i played the drinking game for everytime you said "not everything is real on youtube" so im buzzed. thank you guys. p.s. i do call around when im thinking of selling my silver, and i dont always follow through but i greatly appreciate the courtesy i recieve from shop owners.

    I agree with the comments that silver seekers videos are very informative. I think they really drive the point home, especially to those new to precious metals, that you need to compare prices not just when you buy but when you sell. I also was wondering about the mandatory check payment, glad to hear that answered here. I enjoy both channels, but I disagree that what silver seekers does is wrong, I find it very valuable.

    I saw the video in question and am a subscriber to his channel as well as yours.
    When he calls the shops in question, his calls average less than a minute long. The purpose behind the video is to demonstrate to the viewers the importance of checking with more than one buyer when it comes time to sell your bullion. He had one shop that offered him $160 below spot, per coin.
    He doesn’t release the names of the shops to cause problems for them or anything like that.
    If anything, his video made your shop look good. As I was watching it, I was thinking “Vermillion offers more than any of these guys”.
    My $.02.

    Man, I love your videos, both with Speg and on this channel, but I think you're completely wrong about what SilverSeeker is doing. In a perfect world, there would be no need to do the kind of video he's doing, calling and bothering people. However, there are a lot of people who don't do price discovery, which is a habit he's trying to teach. Also, you're super transparent about your buy-sell spreads, which is really cool. You've got some of the best I've seen anywhere, and you understand that your money is made through volume of transactions. Not all shops think that way, and it's critically important that stackers and collectors know that and know the difference between a good price and a bad price. Some LCSs will rip people's eyes out repeatedly for years. SS is trying to prevent that as much as he can while making a living along the way.

    I find Silver Seekers' "How much do you pay" videos valuable. Sure he takes up 30 seconds of a coin shop's time to collect the data but he provides thousands of us with good information. FYI, if Vermillion was the 8th shop he called you would be paying the most. So, in a sense, he is marketing your services by highlighting the great value you provide.

      These are random, unnamed dealers, probably in a different state than you are. You wont be selling to them so its not that useful. Nothing compares to having even a basic relationship with a few dealers in your area that you do business with. Cold calls with one of these shops and you calling or walking into a shop with your product you do business with are different and give more accurate data for your particular situation.
      Plus you get a better baseline to keep in mind for your exit strategies.

    If you believe its not a big deal to call a coin shop for free information without intending on doing business with them then you dont own a coin shop, lol...I would challenge you to call a few coins shops introduce yourself and tell them your making a video for youtube and wanted information BUT you do NOT intend to buy anything...see how many hang up on you and how many people give you information...Or call a coin shop owner at home where they cant sell anything and see how long they will stay on the phone asking questions...I watch and enjoy "that guys" channel but never liked those call videos for that very reason...He seems like a very nice and very genuine guy, but If he said hes making a video and will NOT be buying anything to them 1st THEN got info id enjoy the videos more but theres a reason he acts as if hes buying stuff...I can also promise if you got his number and called him just to talk and told him your making a video and wanted to ask him questions but your not paying him for his time or compensating him at all its just to get some views for your channel he would hang up on you...It doesn't make him a bad person lol no one wants to waste their time...Becasue he blocks their voice and info he justifies the act as no big deal...Its no big deal unless you on the other side of that call, some people may not care but some might...so if I was a small coin shop struggling and some guy called to ask how much id pay for 10 gold eagles or a monster box of silver eagles id get excited about that possible sale only to hear crickets after the call...Who knows how many people are awaiting him to come in to sell the product he called about...Overall I see it as jay walking, sure its illegal but no one really cares about your minor crime lol...I dont hate him for it, but I do believe he doesnt see it as a big deal...

    Silver Seeker is the channel and he does nothing but informative videos to try to help the community. When it's time to sell, he just wants you to get the best price and shows you that it always pays to call around, and how some shops are mis-informed and downright greedy. He does not put the shops info out there that he's calling, eventhough he should for the worse ones. One shop quoted him $1770 was their buy price on 1oz gold eagles. I met him last year, pretty nice guy who seems genuine. In fact, he'd probably be open to talking to you about the videos he makes.

    • @MrClad
      @MrClad ปีที่แล้ว +4

      and understood that some states require a 30 day hold on all purchases, but when shops are paying $160 back of spot on Eagles....that's a little ridiculous. Obviously they're allowed to offer whatever they want, but the videos just illustrate the importance of calling around. You put back gold and silver and hope you never need to dip into it, but if you do, and your shop is -$160 back of Eagles, it may sour you out of the community. Both of your channels are great to educate the public.

      With 745K views that SS got on the one video he should use the $10K in ad revenue and go to 7 different coin shops and buy $1000 worth of silver or gold. Then go back to the same 7 coins shops a week later and sell the $1000 worth of silver or gold. He can then show real life data with receipts and support the LCS at the same time. Worse case he loses a little money initially on the spread (premium) that each coin shop makes on him but he would get over 1 million views and earn 10K in ad revenue. win win for everyone.

    The dealer calling shops asking about prices has my full support. He does it maybe once every two weeks. Calls about five shops. The call is about a minute or so. Yeah, it takes a little of the shop owner's time, and he has no intention of buying. But, he provides valuable information. A recent video had about a $200 spread between the shops in buying a gold Eagle. If he can protect people from this kind of loss, it ought to be encouraged. Who knows? Vermillion might have future customers who are still buying/selling because they weren't discouraged by funding out they had lost $200 on the sale of a gold coin.

    I think what SS is doing would be very similar to what ANYONE should do before buying or selling precious metals, especially with an LCS. I don't see an issue with it. @vermillionenterprises, would you be pissed at me if I called just to ask the buy/sell price for say, Silver Eagles? Do you get calls like that all the time? I don't think you'd think it was a "waste of time", and takes you literally seconds, to answer the person on the other end of the line and then move on with your day? SS is just showing how to go about calling and asking multiple LCS' to do your due diligence before buying or selling. I don't see an issue with it, and you shouldn't either. Like others said, he doesn't identify these shops, and even puts their voices through a voice changer but it is eye opening as to the spread between LCS's. I don't think he's doing it for entertainment, he's doing it to inform the community. You guys have pretty competitive prices and your upfront about it. That's great. I'm sure if SS ever called you, you'd be one of the best LCS's he called.

I'm in accord with you but just saying I find many YT channels to be entertaining AND informative (like yours). So with respect to YT one need not throw the baby out with the bathwater.

    If I sold you a Mermaid for over $10K would you have to fill out the tax form? That is real question. Cash Wire Zelle. Love the channel and the content.

    I like your guys contents, but there is nothing wrong with Silver Seeker's show and you two are over reacting. 1) He is not taking much time from the shops, literally just a couple of minutes, 2) he is educating the public with real world examples, 3) his content is promoting silver/gold industry- and thus your content. If I had not watched Silver Seeker, the TH-cam algorithm would have never lead me to your content.

    The other channel just called you out on his channel as a response to this video. Your channel is a real business and his channel is entertainment. Unfortunately most of the viewers don't understand that and I agree don't pretend to call a store and waste their time just to get views. Be a big boy and do actual business at 7 LCS and then show receipts of what you got to buy and how much they paid to show the spread. He would get enough clicks to recoup the loss of real money and the LCS would appreciate the business.

    • @vermillionenterprises
      @vermillionenterprises  ปีที่แล้ว

      That is a great idea about actually doing business with the LCS then comparing...i think a lot of viewers do not understand the money that is generated through these social media channels and the more "shocking" the content is the more money the channel makes whether there is valuable content or not

    Sounds like "Silver Seeker." He is always calling Coin Shops, never identified, asking what they will pay for gold and silver bullion. It seems to me that his message is that when selling your silver or gold you really have to shop around because the price will vary from shop to shop.
