K-type 8 litre 6-cylinder direct-injection diesel engine via a German built Z.F. APHON 4-speed constant mesh helical gearbox (mounted remote) & also connected to a dynamo via a drive belt & a single dry plate friction clutch as standard. So next time when you visit wythall bus museum, you must have a ride on it & listen to the very strange sound what it made via video recording of this very strange sounding 1940 S.O.S. SALOON ONWARD (SON) half cab forward entrance single deck bus from Midland Red at the forward offside next to the forward entrance doorway.
