    Thankyou! I really enjoyed that.
At one stage in life we ALL have that question posed in some form or another.
And, I know I always have to pause and ponder how to answer it.
    Blessings to all ❤

Historically, Christianity has not abided by that limit.
Even today, in America, many Christians refuse to abide by this limit; attempting (with some success) to use our legislative and policing agencies to force everyone else (under threat of violent enforcement) to abide by Christian fundamentalist morality-beliefs.
However, I do love the idea of a "Christianity" that abides (at the very least) by the limit you mentioned.

As it applies to the 3 faiths of Jerusalem i.e. Christianty, Judaism & Islam, religion is recognition of a Deity and worship of such, along with laws that are connected to the Deity, who we call God. There are also polytheistic religions, and those where there is no God or gods, but instead ethical and moral laws.

To be fair, religious liberty predates monotheism.
It even predates the Hebrew religions; despite the fact that 2nd Temple Judaism attempted to re-write their own history (and world history) so that they were the first religion.
For example, the Egyptian ruler Akhenaten decided to put an end to religious liberty when he instituted the first/oldest known example of monotheism, as a way to consolidate power.
He reasoned that a people who are allowed to have different gods will remain divided about the views and values, because the gods would always have their own unique views, values, and attitudes being conveyed to their worshippers.
Akhenaten wanted everyone yielding to a singular moral authority (himself). -in order to ensure widespread support for the very unscrupulous domestic and foreign-military actions he planned to enact.
Thus, Akhenaten introduced a singular "God" who spoke through Akhenaten; so that Akhenaten's plans and demands would not be widely questioned.

    Setting aside
    the fact
that the stories about Moses are mythical, ...
    The character's individual spiritual narrative
stopped being a private matter between himself and his "God"
    and became:
millions of other people's business and problem.
    When?
When he came down from that mountain and based all of this claims on "trust me, bro".
That's when he clarified that something as black-and-white as "do not kill" meant "unless your religious leader feels like some suckers have it coming to them".
He didn't even bother with a Trial, evidence, and witnesses.
Instead, he just arbitrarily decides which large group of his internally segregated cult needed to die horrifically, and which of his cultists needed to suffer the PTSD of having to cut fellow cultists up into pieces in front of their loved ones.
Because God's EGO is more important than human lives.
"Human rights" wasn't even a concept for them.
And the ego of religious leaders cannot be truly distinguished from that of their "God"; because those are both the same thing.

    well sure.
    that's how the story goes.
Some random dude with a cult personality goes for a walk, climbs a mountain, or even just emerges from his tent on a lazy Tuesday afternoon.
    "Good news, everyone!
I just had a totally private conversation with our GOD.
    You weren't invited.
    You peasants aren't even qualified.
And he put me in charge of everyone!
    Isn't that great?!"?

    Love. Forgive. Do not judge.
Here is where we are in prophecy:
We can know "when" we are on God's prophetic calendar. It is written in the book of 2nd Esdras. Chapter 11 contains a prophecy that describes a line of American presidents, five of whom are still alive, and two of them are being kept until "the end." All of them are old men. "The end" is fast approaching.
Ezra wrote Second Esdras, chapters 11, 12, and 13 many centuries ago, long before the United States existed, yet he accurately describes a line of 15 US presidents starting with Hoover. This 100-year-long prophecy began fulfilling on March 4, 1929. It is now 95% complete. Its perfect fulfillment to this point has established its credibility. Ezra was not guessing.
I have condensed the prophecy into a series of short lessons - my gift to you. Please allow me to guide you through them, step by step, and into understanding. Blessings to you and your loved ones.

Jas_1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
