Wow that’s amazing ,I lost my Dad to cancer in 2021 and he definitely loved P- Funk , and seen them live back in the day when I was little! Much respect ✊🏾 to you and your fathers memory! ✊🏾🙏
Your Dad has a good collection I’m around your Dads age. During this time all this music the early 1970s to 1980s I was a kid could get most music cuz most record stores didn’t carry most black music, true very true. I have most downloaded but as I know the quality is different. Anyway I’m in the process of collecting again. So my brother enjoy. And may the Funk be with you…..
Oh yeah America eats it's young, Chocolate city, the live earth tour all that funk When you look at all those albums you get a whole universe of intergalactic funk
Dr. Funkenstein (Gamin on you). Mothership Connection (Night of the Thumpasorus Peoples......Gaga Goo Gaa, Gaga Goo Gaa...Gaga Goo Gaa Gaa). I'm 71. I was there.
David.
Nice collection it brings back memories of my younger years. It's great that you are honoring your Dad with his albums. Just a suggestion start thinking about preservation. Get some outter and inner sleeves for the albums. One day I would like for my grandson to do to me what you are doing for your Dad. Keep spinning and enjoying the memories
Always loved Parliament/Funkadelic/George Clinton. I took my fiancé to a corporate dinner. The DJ trying to make everybody happy played a George Clinton song. I told my fiance “Our first dance together is not going to be “Atomic Dog!” The next song they played was Johnny Mathis “Chances Are!” That was our first dance and ended up becoming our wedding song! 30 years later, we laugh every time we hear “Atomic Dog!”
Man, what a beautiful thing you've done. You took me into my own memories of buying these albums while growing up. Just who was your dad? He was a master funkateer, and we stick together pretty good, maybe I knew him?
I really appreciate it…Clarence Sr. was born in Tennessee but was raised in Detroit. He was also a Track and Field All American at Kentucky State College and taught physical education for over 30 years in Detroit. Pops played music in the gym everyday and put all those youngsters onto P-Funk. He was a legend at all the schools he taught at.
Too honor your dad and us OG's my challenge to you is continue the P-Funk train by getting his band members albums like Eddie Hazel, The Parlets, Fuzzy Haskins, Bernie Worrell, Mutiny, Quazar, Sweat Band, Jimmy G, Menace, Godmoma, Mico Wave and Incorporated Thang Band. I can't help you with vinyl since my collection is all digital but if get desperate holla!!!
He was a true Funk-a-teer ! Bringing back a lot of memories .👍🏿

@@mannysavage88 There are a few more I need to grab to make the collection complete
@rarebreed42 I started collecting P. Funk CDs when I was 6. I wasn't born when most of these albums were released.
