I love these radio dramas, they make me want to see the movies they're based on. I am thankful to those that upload these. I get all my classic movies from them!
Thank you for posting this. As a big fan of this movie I am so surprised by the way the original cast read this. It was almost as if they were rushing through the lines, no feelings, no emotions.... This story has such great dialogues and having watched the movie so many times I distinctly remember how some of my favorite lines are read - but this was not the same - I wonder what the circumstances of the recording were.
I noticed it, too. Squeezing this full-length movie into a 54-minute radio play meant rushing things. Only Addison seemed to speak at a normal speed... somewhat.... well, more so than the others.
Thelma Ritter was a classic in this flick. Margo: Birdie, when we get home, you're gonna get into this girdle and act for two and a half hours. Birdie: I couldn't get into that girdle in two and a half hours. How I wish some of those lines in this brief radio version.

Editing for time constraints. Some great stuff gets left out, including some priceless one-liners.
