I heard the reason stunt actors don't get Oscars is they don't want to encourage people risking their lives trying to one up each other to get a small gold statue.
If I remember right Arnold really liked the idea of the Terminator being dragged through buildings that he personally paid for the damages to have that scene
13:53 - 14:27 TX: "I like Uwe Boll scripts!" Seriously, Kristanna Loken was the actress who played Rayne the Dhampir in Uwe Boll's Bloodrayne. One that Doug also reviewed, alongside, yet again, Linkara and Spoony, from their Alone in the Dark crossover. 😂I look forward to the LOLs you'll get from those reviews, Nate, especially the jokes they come up with during the late Meatloaf cameo.
11:45 - 12:33 The opening of Judgment Day was so intense and menacing with how the practical effects made it look like metal robot skeletons could actually become potential dark reality in our future. The opening of Rise of the Machines just looks like every cutscene from the Terminator arcade game.
Judgement day is inevitable because it's a closed time loop: Skynet won in the future, the survivors led by John destroyed it, Skynet send the Terminator to the past to destroy John(prevent his birth), John send Kyle to protect his mom, Kyle become John's dad, the Terminator is destroyed but its hand is recovered & become the basis of Skynet. If anything changes, the whole thing is erased(John & Skynet never exist)
This is the movie that made stop watching Terminator. I still believe that story should have concluded after Terminator 2: Judgment day. After that they could made several spinoff series that had nothing to do with the original story. Edit: the reason why I say that is because we have so many bad Terminator movies!
"I've been here for like 20 minutes" Wait what?! 20:12 Well i'll be damned, she was, i was so focused on the movie rather than looking at them that i never even noticed.
Fun Fact: They wanted to bring back Lance Henriksen from the first film to return in this film as his character Detective Hal Vukovich who is now on a wheelchair, even though he was seen gunned down by the Terminator who was armed with a modified full-auto AR-18 & SPAS-12. Instead, they went with Earl Boen returning as Dr. Peter Silberman. And yes, originally we were supposed to see him getting his comeuppance when the nukes came down at the end, but that moment was scrapped.
I know Nostalgia Critic has made mistakes in the past and does make the odd bad review now and then. However, they’re either minuscule mistakes or few and far between and he has owned up to a lot of them too. Which is why I still like him. Plus, he still does great reviews like these. And it’s great to know I’m not alone on this, Renegades.
Nice I like that you guys reacted to this one hope you react to the other terminator films he covered maybe his spider man month reviews also there is a floating head in the background lol
I've always assumed there are three or four timelines branching off of T2. I once made a flow chart about it but the gist of it is There was an original timeline we never see where John doesn't exist. The humans still won but it was a LOT harder and so skynet sent back the first Terminator to eliminate specific leaders and the original kyle was just a random soldier who was sent back ro save them. This leads to a time loop where John is now in play. Now we are in the known timelines of T1 and 2. Branching from T2 we have the peaceful future timeline. Sarah abd john live and judgment day never happens Next is the T3 and salvation timeline where Sarah got cancer and died while john lived The third timeline is the dark fate timeline where sarah lives and john dies. You can also count the sarah conor chronicles as a branch of T2 where both live Lastly Genesis is in its own timeline having dipped into Multiverse territory with an alt skynet teaming up with its parallel counterpart and terminators being sent after young sarah changing the events of T1 and erasing T2 from history being the only timeline to successfully break the time loop by the end
41:38 I think the answer to the argument is traveling to far into the past could risk Skynet not being invented especially with all these other humans getting caught in the crossfire because ultimately humanity has to cause it’s own extinction even in this movie the T-X’s mission was just to weaken the resistance in the future by killing Connor’s command team and judging by her expression with the blood it seems like yes if she finds Connor yes kill him but make sure you kill these specific people first and the terminator admits he’s been reprogrammed to save the girl I feel like both these sides know that the war going to happen but they are just manipulating just a little bit to make it work in their favor
I liked this movie for one reason: it chose to engage judgment day and stop trying to avoid it. It was the final step before the future war that I desperately wanted to see; even though we only had one movie showcasing that war. And they chose to go back to an older formula that stunted the potential of the franchise future.
40:51 - 41:07 Rick Sanchez: "I don't respect time travel, Morty. If Ant Man and the Wasp can do it, then I'm not interested." 😒Clearly, Genisys didn't respect time travel either with all the middle fingers they gave to the past Terminator movies and lore.
I can probably explain the rating issue with the movie. A lot of people, myself included, first experienced the original two Terminators movies when we were kids. Hell, I don't think I was even six when I saw T2 for the first time. And eventually, that fact is gonna be known to a lot of others. When it becomes common knowledge that children watch these movies, there was likely some big panic at the studios about what they were putting in them, and thus a move to tone things down 🤔
*Underrated It was okay for me, Granted, it's no T1&2, But it's also no Genesis nor Dark Fate either. It could have been worse and there have been worse. At least the ending scene was pretty good.
I still subscribe to the idea that the Terminator and T2 are where the original timeline ended and T3 and beyond are all alternate timelines, because the same events happened in T3 alternate timeline that happened in the original so as to make it seem like it’s a closer loop when it isn’t, but that is just my two cents on the matter
Oof hearing Micheal and directing Terminator gave me shudders. Salvations is in the good category for me, mostly post Gynesis and Dark Fate, really showed Salvations could've been much worse.
I only know two bad *"TERMINATOR"* films: *"Genisys"* & *"Dark Fate".* I'd rather watch *"Rise of the Machines"* & *"Salvation"* over those last films, though they're obviously not as great as the first two.
Oh, those ones are great. I loved how he included Tales from the Darkside since many consider that to be the superior Creepshow 3 over... *That heinous* 2006 sequel. I look forward to when Brandon reviews Body Bags by John Carpenter.
I didn't mind T3 (same thing goes for Salvation) the movies afterwards just sucked. I think they should have stopped at Salvation because if you think about it the Terminator series is just one big rediculous time loop where a big war between man and advanced cybernetic organisms is truly inevitable...that's until Hollywood had to double dip and ruin the whole thing six ways to Saturday, stupid corporate @$$holes.
Genisys is still the worst for me. Dark Fate is pretty bad, but Genisys can suck it hard with how it makes the person who's the whole point of the franchise the antagonist. Like Alan Taylor was watching that bit from Salvation, with Skynet switching faces from Helena Bonham Carter to Christian Bale while talking with Marcus, and thought, "Hey, wait a minute... *What if Skynet and the main Macguffin of the series became one and the same?* That's so ingenious!" I get it was to sorta free any obligation or attachment Kyle and Sarah had from being forced together - Like, that was ever a complaint, but if that is the case, why do they end up together anyway?? If they do bang after destroying their son, John, does this mean they're stuck in another time loop of giving birth to the resistance leader who'll become assimilated? Is their new child even going to be named John Connor, or will it be a girl named Jane, like what Dark Fate was going with, introducing Dani? Is this all just a nightmare that Sarah's still having while snoozing, like in Judgment Day?
Jeez what took you so long to do it? Is it really that hard to watch nostalgia critic’s terminator reviews? Edit now: well it’s not any of my problem that Micah is so hard to get In the reactions
That Nostalgia Critic Cameo was awesome! 😂
I heard the reason stunt actors don't get Oscars is they don't want to encourage people risking their lives trying to one up each other to get a small gold statue.
Fair enough but they deserve some credit
Also, if the Academy did create a Category for Best Stunt Performer, all of the awards would be given to Tom Cruise.

You mean the movie series, or Terminator: *the* Series, with Summer Glau and Lena Headey?

The one in Sarah Conner chronicles is definitely a better female terminator.
