Nice to see someone mention the tightening and loosening of the muscles in the neck. I found out a while back that whenever I felt heavy or tired, just pushing my jaw forward and looking straight up for 30 seconds would make me feel light and happy, so I've started doing that several times a day, it really has improved my sense of wellbeing and my energy level.

@@unknowninfinium4353 It's gonna sound harder than it actually is, but mewing isn't an exercise, it's to change a bad habit. You should always mew, the resting position of your face should be lips closed, teeth slightly touching and tongue on the pallate (roof of the mouth). Hard mewing can be done as an exercise, the more you do it the faster you'll see results, but it can also cause you headaches (just like doing any other high force activity)
@@FurrySh0ck Thank you for your reply, only one clarification. When you mentioned tongue on the roof of mouth, should it be resting or slight pressure or something else.
Wow.. this was totally not what I was expecting… again another video reminding us how important it is to stretch what muscles are already there AND use them properly. thank you so much for this.
Tip: look in the mirror and smile, and make sure your bottom row of teeth is aligned with your top row (even if you have to actively align it yourself) then close your mouth while keeping your top and bottom rows aligned. Some people have overbites that make it look like your jaw is shifting more into your neck area that sticking out and being defined. When the rows of your teeth are aligned, it reveals your jawline’s actual shape. But honestly this won’t work if your body fat percentage is too high. Basically don’t just let your face hang even when you aren’t speaking. Have your jaw muscles constantly be occupied on keeping your face up. The constant tension of keeping your jaw up will allow your face to get a daily workout. It’s like holding a plank but for your face.
You're going to fuck up your teeth with this, we are supposed to have a slight overbite so the front teeth don't meet the bottom ones when we chomp. I got it into my head when I was a teenager that the teeth should be aligned like you're saying and yeah after a year of that my dentist had to remove a tiny bit off the bottom of my front teeth to straighten them after they had been unevenly eroded from hitting into my bottom teeth. It also makes a smile look very unnatural.
The plank is also a good way to stimulate the muscles not only the core but your whole body including your face. I’ve notice a huge difference just by doing the plank for 1 minute a day
Bro i didn't realize that my teeth were separated while my mouth was closed, I think this is going to fix a lot of my confidence problems. Thank you so much man

I'll give this a try! Funny story. I had a roommate, who we'll politely say was well over weight. She had a definite double chin situation. Well, I walked into the living room one day and she wasn't expecting me. She was watching TV, with a large bowl of ice cream in her hand eating it , and wearing this tight black thing around her chin and head. When she saw me she jumped a little , and then just relaxed again like oh well, lol. I said " what is that thing on yout head?" She said " it's a chin strap, it's suppoed to help get rid of the double chin." I went to my room thinking " Well, the chin strap isn't going to help much when you are eating an entire bowl of ice cream wearing it." Lol. Kind of defeats the purpose.
Problem is she could push back tissue, including the posterior part of her tongue, into the airway. If one does it constantly, it could weaken the tissues and cause them to relax and become an airway obstruction problem.

This combo of mewing (which I'm already starting to do more) and the stretching seems like a good plan! I definitely have poor posture, somewhat to do with scoliosis but I can't let that become an excuse.

I read if you can’t seem to get it, just say the letter N, and your tongue will end up where it’s supposed to behind the teeth. I also read you want to get the back of your tongue to touch the roof of your mouth the more experienced you get. To know how that is supposed to feel, make the letter N again and then pull your head straight back like you’re trying to make a double chin. This will force the back of your tongue to feel the roof of the mouth so you know what you’re feeling for as you get stronger.
Very good video, breathing through your nose with your mouth shut is a natural thing humans do because it's healthier as your nose partially filters the air - but the recessed mouthbreather jaw seems to be prominent because of looking down at phones and bad air quality causing your nose to block. I've known about mewing for 3 years or so and while I'm able to do this during the day, I often wake up mouth breathing because my nose is totally blocked, and the minute I sit up it unblocks, which is sad. The top comment here is stating that "for a defined jawline reduce your body fat percentage, everyone has a jawline, It's just the layer of fat on top that determines the definition" - This is just plain wrong, it's true that being fat will cover up your jawline but if you have bad posture and only mouth breathe it changes the shape of everything, your face is more elongated and your jawline points down and actually recedes inward. Just look up pictures of mewing and look at pictures of people that have changed their face with it, they didn't lose any fat, the jaw changed shape.
Just a small tip: Make sure your'e inhaling is shorter than your exhaling, otherwise your'e actually activating your sympathetic nervous system, which is the opposite of the resting and digesting system. So you're better inhaling a bit faster and exhaling more slowly. Ps. Yes these exercises do work, i've been doing the ones from "carole maggio facebuilder exercises for men" book and they drastically have changed my face.
Pardon my question but how does nose breathing help your jaw? I don’t get it. I literally always breathe through my nose and yet my jawline isn’t any better.
I think it's funny that people are making fun of you for this video. I've been naturally mewing since I was young, alongside nose breathing, and my jawline is really good to prove it. I think it's just that some people really are born stupid mouth breathers and refuse to change.
this is all true, and it all works, been doing this all subconsciously for like 3 years now. Had a great jawline even when I was at like 25% body fat, even better now around 17%. just so you know, if you start to notice jaw pain, you've been biting too hard subconsciously. it just happens sometimes. Remind yourself to loosen up a bit every once in a while.
Lift weights. Do squats (15-20 reps) which essentially work the whole body, boost the metabolism, burn fat and flood the body with testosterone. Most people including myself have a lot of trouble sticking with it. A set of higher rep squats will leave you gasping for air and a super high heart rate. It takes more effort than this but it will be quicker. There have been cases where people just do squats and put muscle on their upper bodies.
My Tips *Not from the video ! 1. Loose fucking weight. 2. Stay hydrated. 3. Do mewing works good when you are in your teenage years. I'm 17 Rn and it works! 4. Increase Your testosterone level. 5. Breathe through nose. 6. If you are over 25 mewing still works but it will work very slow. 7. Genetics only (30-40%)

The documentary, Open Wide on Netflix features the doctor who named the exercise Mewing. Dr John Mew. It's a very strange show.
But interesting
Me watching so I don’t get bullied for my triple chin
Thank You. Helped me a lot after doing once.. i will keep continuing
Who came here from google

Pardon my question but how does nose breathing help your jaw? I don’t get it. I literally always breathe through my nose and yet my jawline isn’t any better.
If you breathe my way through your mouth your face gets a shape used for better air flow and it gets way worse
I think it's funny that people are making fun of you for this video. I've been naturally mewing since I was young, alongside nose breathing, and my jawline is really good to prove it. I think it's just that some people really are born stupid mouth breathers and refuse to change.
Is that all you did?
I’m in 6grade and everyone has a 999 chin but I watched this I wy jawline is getting better daily
thanks for making me look like a chad
Exercise to get a nice jawline. Just another reason to workout 🙂

HE LOOKS LIKE HOMELANDER LMAO
my sister is crying bc she wanted a jawline when she saw this she was happy thank you😀😍
Excellent video buddy!
How did TH-cam know
Thanks man, I love your energy
this is all true, and it all works, been doing this all subconsciously for like 3 years now. Had a great jawline even when I was at like 25% body fat, even better now around 17%. just so you know, if you start to notice jaw pain, you've been biting too hard subconsciously. it just happens sometimes. Remind yourself to loosen up a bit every once in a while.
Wow, I'm totally down with these exercises for lifetime
I just realized you made your channel on the day I was born 🥲
Dream definitely watched this video to prep for the face reveal
Me watching with no neck

Lift weights. Do squats (15-20 reps) which essentially work the whole body, boost the metabolism, burn fat and flood the body with testosterone. Most people including myself have a lot of trouble sticking with it. A set of higher rep squats will leave you gasping for air and a super high heart rate. It takes more effort than this but it will be quicker. There have been cases where people just do squats and put muscle on their upper bodies.
Thank you so much for this great useful video ❤❤ great explanation ❤❤
Thanks for all your useful videos and content, please also post the classic backfull movement training on the ground video on TH-cam,Thanks so much♥♥
