Breen is one of the most interesting film makers working today. The degree to which everything is wrong in his films defies description, they truly feel like the work of an alien with only second hand knowledge of films and human behaviour.

It's true. His movies are so impossibly incongruous that they HAVE to be the product of an alien life form or an artificial intelligence. Maybe his movies are some breed of meta-documentary.

One thing I've noticed is every time Breen does some goofy edit, I assume it's you doing it to highlight an exceptionally weird moment. And each time, you then say "I didn't do that, that's the movie." And each time I am blown away to learn that's literally how the movie goes.

12:40 I don’t know if I said it on here before but these vanity projects always provide us with a good insight to how insufferable the creators are in real life. In this example they bump into each other and thinks saying “let me make it up to you and take you out for a drink” is revealing on so many levels.
His own arrogance that trying to hit on her is “making it up” to her. Like he’s some sort of god that any woman would be impressed. Also the need to delay the woman further by insisting on picking up what she’s already picked up. The damsel in distress when she would have got done a lot faster without his “help”.
I’m confident that everyone knows someone like this. That person who thinks they know better than everybody and yet the evidence (like this movie) just shows the exact opposite is true.
And then there’s the reaction of the homeless person. Obviously the homeless person is supposed to be impressed by him (because that’s what he thinks everyone views him like) whereas in real life the homeless person would have said “she’s clearly not interested”.
Finally there’s the slightly worrying stalker type mentality that he is unable to detect that in real life the women is visibly repulsed by him. But he seems unable to recognise this obvious signal and sees it as something entirely different. In real life she’s not coming back at 8pm, she’s out with her friends talking about this arrogant, weird creep she bumped into.
13:58 just seen it. This is the step into his mind. Stalker, I bet he’s like that in real life. He just sees it as normal behaviour.
    16:10 that’s not a game. That’s a confession.
17:34 “don’t worry I’m not going to kill you”. Saying that kind of makes holding the gun redundant.

I asked Chat GPT to write the opening scene to a Neil Breen film:
    FADE IN:
    EXT. DESERT - DAY
A vast and barren landscape stretches as far as the eye can see. The scorching sun beats down on the cracked earth. A lone figure, NEIL BREEN, clad in a tattered suit, emerges from the shimmering heat waves.
NEIL scans the horizon with a steely gaze, his unkempt hair blowing in the hot desert wind. He carries a mysterious metallic briefcase that seems to radiate an otherworldly glow.
    CUE INTENSE SYNTH MUSIC
NEIL stumbles upon an abandoned, rusted car half-buried in the sand. He opens the door and retrieves a crumpled map from the glove compartment. With determination in his eyes, he unfolds the map and studies it, muttering to himself.
    NEIL BREEN:
    (whispering)
They thought they could control us. They were wrong. I will expose the corruption, the lies, and the secrets.
As he speaks, the wind picks up, swirling the sand around him. The metallic briefcase begins to emit a low hum, adding an eerie undertone to the scene.
    NEIL BREEN:
    (looking directly at the camera)
I am the last hope for humanity.
Suddenly, a MYSTERIOUS FIGURE appears in the distance. Wearing a dark trench coat and sunglasses, the figure watches Neil from afar. Neil senses the presence, his eyes narrowing.
    NEIL BREEN:
    (under his breath)
    They're watching... always watching.
With the map in hand and the mysterious briefcase at his side, Neil Breen sets off into the unforgiving desert, embarking on a journey that will unravel the fabric of reality itself.
CUE INTENSE SYNTH MUSIC, and the screen goes black, leaving the audience on the edge of their seats, ready for the mind-bending adventure that lies ahead.

I understand your frustration. Is he serious or is he having us on? I think he's serious. This reminds me of old public access movies from the 80s and 90s. Lots of desire to make a show but no technical skill whatsover. His films look like as if our dad went out and made a film. Plus if he's having us on, what's his end game? He's been at this for like 20 years. I know he makes festival appearances and sells DVD's, but he's probably not raking it in. I'll give him props for doing his first one on 35mm film. That's a feat. I don't want to say shooting on video now isn't a feat, but it's a whole lot easier and cheaper.

Yup he is fully serious. I honestly don't understand how anyone at this point could think otherwise. Just look and listen to him. He is an aging, awkward out of touch man, and like plenty of other Vanity project "producers" he lives vicariously through his movies, where hes always a Messiah that saves the world and gets the beautiful ladies.
Btw he is becoming another Tommy Wiseau. His movies are being played in SOLD OUT theaters

Great videos, especially your movie reviews and reactions. I have a suggestion for what is probably perhaps the worst car movie ever made. It's called Stand On It, which is basically a rip off remake of the 1977 Burt Reynolds classic, Smokey and the Bandit. It stars Dukes of Hazzard actor, John Schneider, who also produced, directed and edited the movie. It is by far the worst movie I've ever seen and features terrible acting, greenscreen, horrible editing, bad camera work, and pathetic car chases. John Schneider also did all the songs and they are bad as well. It's free to watch on TH-cam and it's so bad it's bad, it makes Neil Breen's films look like like award winners. It even makes Asylum movies look like high brow.

Breen has got to be the most patient and persistent troll, since there is no way that anyone would think that any of his "movies" reach even the lowest quality bar. Another proof is that over 20 years of making/editing these - Breen has shown a 0 sign of improvement that normally comes with experience. His last movies might actually be even less competently made than his first.
Got to give it up for Breen - he is making good money(he still uses recordable DVDs and no box or sleeve of any kind, to send his creations to customers) trolling us for almost a quarter of the century😂

Honestly, there is no way Neil Breen's movies could be so consistently bad and nonsensical across time, without them being exactly as he wants them to be.

I bet Breen fanaticizes that every kid who picked on him in high school, and every girl who laughed at him, today watches his theatrical masterpieces and regrets not seeing the true genius, world saver, secret agent and woman magnet he's always believed himself to be..

he uses so much green screen jank, even in the scenes where it's not a green screen, I swear there's a slight green hue around him still.

Breen has topped (or bottomed?) all the bad movies I have seen. But it would be great if you could do a review of Samurai Cop if you haven't already done one. It's hilariously bad. And I for one think Breen is NOT in on the joke. Unbelievably there are many people like him who somehow have survived in the world. God knows how.

He's a real state agent. He doesn't have to have any skills and still can make lots of money to fund his projects.

I think this probably says more about the amount of movies I've watched in my life than anything else, but I think it's entirely possible that none of his movies are in the Top Ten Worst Movies I've Ever Seen.

I'm not saying they aren't somewhere in the 10-20 range, though.

My theory for why every shot looks and sounds bad in a Neil Breen movie is that he only does one take for each one. My guess is he only has a couple days’ budget for the entire movie.
Or it could be he just sucks as a filmmaker…
