    The voice of King Ramses' is John R. Dilworth, the creator, writer, director, and producer of Courage the Cowardly Dog himself.

    "King Ramses' Curse" became a Bonus Cartoon for the VHS Release of Scooby-Doo and the Alien Invaders 23 Years Earlier.

    To get away from this childhood trauma, may I suggest checking out a more calming NC review next week. Try his video on Bridge to Terabithia; nothing scarring in that film what-so-ever.

    04:05 Kyle's memories start flooding back. Hopefully the memories of other cartoons that have been repressed will come back from this jolt to the neurons~
    Also yes, this episode traumatized me. After I had my first sleep paralysis experience at 4, I became afraid of the dark and my imagination kept imagining things outside. Like the giant Abiyoyo from that one episode of Between the Lions. Or in this case, King Ramses.

  • @tookeydookey

    Had this on my VHS of Scooby Doo and the Alien Invaders but I didn't get it until 2009 so that was for the best to save some trauma haha! Then again I don't remember this airing on Cartoon Network unless I looked over it back then. And no this didn't scare me when I watched the Scooby Doo tape.

      I forgot the episode name, but The Great Fecilie was probably the most unnerving ending wise for me since it was the last episode of that season as well as ended with Courage playing with what could be considered the corpses of Muriel and Usterse.

    While im still a little bitch when it comes to jump scares and other stuff. Courage the cowardly dog did get me more into...creepy kinds of horror i guess. Ones that don't just rely on jumpscares are my favorite and creep me out more and i love things like that. M3GAN was a decent example but I can't think of much else at the moment.

    I swear I'm the only one I know who wasn't terrified of this episode. While my friends were having nightmares, I literally had a dream about me king Ramses, Donald Duck, and Arthur the Aardvark (Don't ask IDK either), sitting down in all having tea together.

  • @MariuigiKhed
    @MariuigiKhed 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I still say the Weremole episode was the scariest Courage episode. To be fair, it was a time I had nightmares about a wereduck and a were- I think it was a tasmanian devil (the real one, not the Looney Tunes one). Freaky Fred was... creepy but not scary. With that in mind: then "Night at the Katz Motel" is the scariest for me. I'm not arachnophobic, but DAMN I still shivers at those that were in that episode

    I'm pretty sure Doug hasn't seen Courage prior to reviewing these episodes. I recall he did a series of videos in the past talking about his experience with cartoons growing up and he said that towards the end of the '90s (I think he mentions Hey Arnold as an example of this era) he lost touch with cartoons and wasn't watching them much anymore.

    After the episode aired, it wound up being a very catchy one by the audience instead.

    Those Dark Toons analysis videos are great and really interesting. One of my favorite series on Channel Awesome, Perfect is a TERRIFYING episode if you have never seen it and it's- no pun intended- a perfect choice for a video releasing near or even ON Halloween. It's the last episode of the series and it's about Courage facing this teacher that represents what he thinks of himself, particularly his imperfections. And that nightmare in the third act of the episode 🥶🥶🥶🥶 The Mask, another Courage episode, is also really great and creepy but it's also a lot more darker and serious than most episodes about confronting/dealing with trauma especially in abusive romantic relationships. That was so intense and important that they split it into a two-parter and to my knowledge the ONLY two-parter in the entire series
