Unpopular opinion: if you cant make the effort to go to your relatives house (or send someone from your family) to give them your wedding cards, those relatives or family members probably aren't as important for you and if they criticise you then dont take it to your heart.
We as a culture over hype this event too much esp. with such formalities. I would rather have friends and relatives who are close and relaxed enough to come even on an SMS. In fact that’s how I did my wedding and had around 50 relatives and friends. Personally I wanted to just to it in a mosque and invite direct family and close friends for dinner later.
It's the NEED to be important in desi culture which is extremely toxic. They can get upset and that is their choice but don't expect everyone to bend over backwards for you. If someone came to your house to give a wedding card then you can repay the favor likewise. Otherwise there's no need for going yourself or sending someone around the city. An sms or a tcs does similar work.
