This week’s guest is Andhika Gautama aka Westside MuzeeQ from Bali, Indonesia. He is an avid music collector since the tender age of 8 years old. He is currently a resident vinyl DJ at many top venues on the Island of Bali, Indonesia.
He created Westside MuzeeQ as a hub in the form of a record store, as well as his DJ alias. He performs live with his records in Indonesia, Australia, South East Asia and Europe. He also produces the bi-yearly event Record & Cassette Store Day Bali.
For the past few years, he is determined to bring the lost hidden gems of the '60s & '70s Indonesian Psychedelic Funk, Soul & Disco Music to the publics' ears.
In this set Westside MuzeeQ spins 45 minutes of rare Grooves that have not been reissued or released on any formats other than the original vinyl source from the '70s.

I'd say Westside MuzeeQ is one outta very few outstanding vinyl selectors in Indonesia. He's so knowledgable, adventurous, yet having a sophisticated taste. A perfect example of a crate digger OG!

@@kcheise im still quite new discovering this side of malaysian made music, but what i can recommend you is to start with Black Dog Bone 1st album ‘Sindir-Sindir Sayang’ & ‘Jangan Kau Cuba-Cuba’ by The Queens. But if you’re in KL, just drop by Sputnik Records @ TTDI & just ask the store owner for malaysian disco/funk recommendation, he’ll hook you up with bangers.

While Indonesia is my favorite country to visit, I've never been impressed by their modern music. This comp is a lot better than I expected.
As with all popular music around the globe. The mainstream v/s the underrated goes back to the exposure. The list I played are not the Singles of the album. Rather then the hidden gems, or side B Track from the Album.
Thanks to My Analog Journal TH-cam channel. The music that has never heard gets a 2nd Life after almost 4decades being undiscovered.
