Idk, for me Superman in Rebirth was probably the best balance. American Alien as well. All seem like the best versions of Superman because he's not too OP, really down to earth (even moreso than All Star) and it doesn't sacrifice the action or stakes.

I also think this is why Spider-Man has been so popular among marvel comics for years. The story is just as much about Peter Parker as it is Spider-Man. Things that happen as Peter (uncle Ben dying) affect Spider-Man and things that happen as Spider-Man (saving people making him late to everything) have impacts on his life as Peter. It’s nice to see DC leaning into the human side of its heroes, something I have thought was lacking compared to Marvel in some ways!
I'ma have to say it, the Superman animated series from the 90s is overrated. Superman spends half the series on his back for the villains and Lois was a gold digging thot who forgot Clark existed the moment she saw a billionaire walk down from a private jet. This version of Superman was much better handled in the JL series that followed, but in his own? It's just kinda him being bland and beaten up with his slow reaction timing to literally everything.
I just started watching the show and incidentally rewatched your cyberpunk video and wanted to check out more of your stuff. Great video and summarises why I never really got superman before and why I begin to really love the character now. Also Clark and Lois are so freaking cute in this!!! I rarely cheer for couples in movies/shows but here its just so adorable

for real tho, I grew up not liking superman because I found him boring but ive realised its because the writers barely cared about superman and just wrote him to be "strong guy who is super dumb" and they focused more on batman. literally every movie i watched, superman was just there to prove that batman was going to be better than him in every way and it was obvious that the writers had clear bias for bruce. I gave this show a shot because i liked how lois looked like me and I really fell in love with clark. They gave clark a more human approach and made him digestable for everyone. At the end of the day, he really is just a guy from Kansas who wants to save as many people as he can.
This show is amazing, the only bad thing about it so far was in episode 5 when lois pulled the whole "mad because secret superhero" shit but other than that just great all around
From whats out so far it's not needlessly pushing any huge agendas really, and the messages it does have are actually pretty relavant to superman so I'd say its done pretty well in that department
