Why didn’t Josh make his deck about Trample? I feel like that embodies “Run Over” more than vehicles do.
Well it did have "Overrun" in it at least.
Whenever you deal combat damage to a player triggers totally counts as being run over! The submarine has a specific run over grandma scenario built in.
Especially considering "Grandma got run over by a *reindeer*" explicitely says an animal ran her over - ie Trampled by elk in the case of MTG.
Sure trampling is running over something, but getting ran over by a reindeer in a vehicle is a significantly more funny idea than grandma just getting trampled by reindeer.
Why did lady not make her deck a toggo deck so she could make rocks
Jimmy giving Josh an untap phase for absolutely no reason was painful.
It was a power move. Granted it backfired.

Wouldn’t josh Kim still live as his cleric prevents 2 damage and he only prevented 1 damage from a squirrel, so wouldn’t he live anyway?
@@XragebootsX In the game, he went down to 1 thanks to the second activation of his Cleric. He would have died if Jimmy had used it on his turn. (Also I'm not sure that's how the cleric's ability works, but even if it does work like that, it wouldn't save him)
But, lets be fair here, wasnt that the most Jimmy move possible? ON THEME!
@@SandsBuisle as someone who plays old school clerics a lot "prevent the next x damage" would apply to damage from any source(s) until end of turn. So both of you are correct. Josh Kim would have died (9 damage dealt at 8 life), but yes, the cleric would still prevent 1 of those damage.
Josh Lee would have lived through Rakdos because of the Caribou sac, then died to mana burn, same deal. Though frankly I'm not certain the order in which the mana burn damage would be dealt if Jimmy also lacked an outlet...
Definitely one of the coolest wins that didn't happen on this show in my opinion.
Josh would've survived until his turn anyways and Jimmy would've survived and had to activate his commander to kill everyone so it would've been a draw.
JLK, as a fellow editor, can I just give you some major kudos for upping the production quality on every episode? Let me just tell you, all that extra work does not go un-noticed.

Just imagine if Jimmy had decided to play the rakdos charm on his 2nd main phase
I know! What was he thinking!!! He almost could have saved it by activating Yurlok in response to rakdos charm but as Josh Kim's lands had untapped he could use the Yurlok mana too!!!
I believe that the effect of Apothecary would prevent one damage on that turn yet. Jimmy wanted to kill it with the rakdos charm, but he forget the apothecary would untap again.
the apothecary would have still blocked 1 of the damage (since it had only blocked 1 squirrel damage) so he would have lived with 1 in that case right?
@@SnakeTyrant naw he still dies from taking a extra dmg from mana burn that turn. It would have prevented one but he was 1 minus the number of creatures he had anyway. So it’s exactsies
I haven't worked it out completely, but Josh would still activate his Caribou whatever land, sacced a token, gained a life, and probably won on the next turn. AHHHH. - jimmy

I think the idea was to play with a strict theme restriction. A blue clone/control deck is more meta than it is limiting...
@@Dragon_Fyre stealing deck will depend on the things you can steal so it is powerful only in board where everyone playing meta deck, in casual play it will not be as much powerful. you can still build steal deck with lower power

I mean, for ladees deck, she’s stretching with the whole “rock” thing... why not just say they’re the Christmas tree ornaments?
I feel she built a deck to win, vaguely tied to Christmas, while everyone else tried a bit harder to stay in theme.
But... they're rocks. That's way more on theme then submarines.
The first 4 minutes were amazing josh. Well done.

Ladee had the chance to say that all those mana rocks were the decorations on her Christmas tree, making it Christmas tree, instead of just a tree.
I just wanna note how Boros, then Mono-White, took back-to-back games here.
Just had to bring the power level of the other decks down to whites level for it to happen!

Great episode, but Jimmy, the song is "The Christmas Song". It's actually more impressive that you based an entire theme of a deck of the opening line to a song, and the line only appears once. That is what won you the theme win!
