Mayer Haters in every comment thread ...so pathetic. He can mimic all the blues greats, has his own style and is respected by all the living legends out there. Basic guitarist my ass...his phrasing is flawless and technique is often attempted on TH-cam by people trying to teach his method and they always fall short. I can get over the fact that most of his fans are teenage girls, and appreciate his work.

They're both musicians. Every person who creates music is a real musician. I respect every person who makes music, even if I'm not a big fan. Taylor Swift and John Mayer are both two of my favorite musicians. They're great, they have talent. but that's just my opinion.
it's funny to think that a lot of kids in her audience weren't even born when this song was released. i mean i remember when i was in second grade when first hearing this song and i'm now in college

My only question when watching all these live performance clips: how do entertainers not get seizures from all the camera flashes coming from the audience?!
Lights and flashes are very familiar to anyone who has been famous, you just get used to it; when you're on stage it's similar to acting really, you engage your soft focus and everything becomes a blur.
ohdannyboy While there is a huge gap in guitarskill between Mayer and Swift, it's pretty unfair to expect Taylor to be able to pull of a solo of a song she probably barely practised. I think you'd be hard pressed to find anybody in modern pop music who'd be able to play a solo like that without spending an unrealistic amount of practise for just one song while touring.

One thing john mayer in the beginning of his career started composing songs for the crowed....he had a more commercial outlook in the beginning.... Now he has shifted to a different style of music altogether.....Most singers are guitar strummers but very few are guitar players too and john mayer is one of them.... he has accompanied legendary artists such as eric clapton and B.B King......he is now an artist of a different class who can adapt to almost any style of music

Whoa, maybe my ears are wrong, but THEY sound GOOD together and I am not a fan of either one...but THIS is a good look.....really....outside of the background noise...she's got a nice voice and he's melodic at best....they are both playing the heck out of their instruments....what more do you want????
You obviously haven't actually seen her live. You feel you can criticize her from behind your computer screen, but in reality she is a fabulous performer and singer. I just got back from her concert and was not expecting much from her based on opinions I had heard like yours, and she was absolutely amazing. She has a great voice and performance for being so young, and please don't criticize if you've never actually seen her live.

It’s hard to see the flashes from stage. Spots truss lights all block a good portion. If you see the first row you’re lucky.
