The doll picture is petrifying. Shanann didn’t know what to make of it because she didn’t see it for what it was. How could she? She didn’t know her husband was a psychopath. The caption on FB suggests she found it odd though. Looking back it’s easy to put 2 and 2 together but it’s a lot to ask from Shanann that she would pick up on what he was really communicating to her at the time. He may have not given signs of being this sick throughout his life but he did during the last weeks. Still it’s unthinkable as he continued to confuse Shanann “I don’t want this baby but I don’t want a divorce right away”. So she stayed. No one can blame her for staying. SHE DIDN’T KNOW.

Trying to pin blame on Shanann - “Nico was not Chris’s” - is beyond ridiculous. For the sake of argument, who’d be Nico’s father? There isn’t a shred of evidence pointing in that direction.

She was definitely involved in the planning.

Chris is a cowardly covert narcissist (I've been romantically involved with two of them although, I didnt know thats what they were but I knew something was "off" about them). Covert narcs always want to be seen as "the nice guy/gal" to the outside world, and they appear that way in the beginning with their "object of obsession" too. However, in a matter of months, or possibly a few years, while they still always appear to be "the good guy/gal" to the outside world, behind the scenes with their significant other who isnt an obsession any more, they are kind of lack luster, they dont take much, if any part in decision making (if they are living together/married), they are passive-aggressive, they do things to make their partner insecure, they give the silent treatment, they can be very sneaky, they lie, and they can be downright cruel as Chris was being with Shanann. So while I do believe in the beginning Shanann was the object of obsession for Chris, and he also needed a way to get away from his toxic narcissist mom who felt Shanann was "stealing" Chris from her, I dont think Chris ever truly loved Shanann in a normal way because I dont think he knows what love, compassion, empathy, remorse, or guilt feel like, and he was just acting like what people thought the good husband looked like.
As for NK: in my opinion, she is a pathologically lying malignant narcissist who for reasons unknown to date set her sights on Chris, she stalked him and his family, she love bombed him, researched the things he liked to do, she used sex as bait, including out of the norm sex, and all the while shes collecting dirt on him as she took him on walks on the dark, dirty, kinky wild side. I do believe he was getting cold feet regarding leaving his wife and kids, but having dealt with a malignant narcissist several years ago, NK would start threatening him with exposure (maybe not overtly, but she would threaten him in ways he'd understand. One thing covert narcs are afraid of is being exposed as "not so nice", and in Chris's case, not such a straight arrow. If hed called her bluff, as I did with those threatening, he'd have been torn apart, and exposed, and that would have destroyed a guy like him. Shanann most likely would have been done with him, his job would have been over (malignant narcs are very skilled in playing the victim, so NK would have at least tried to have people believe that she was afraid of him, he'd threatened her, and her friends would have backed her up on that), and Chris, who had been planning to escape Shanann by taking off with his new object of obsession would have been stuck moving back to NC back under mommy dearests rule. I wouldnt put it past NK to convince that she, and others, would "get rid of" Shanann at least, and that it was a fool proof plan, and seeing as 1. He didnt love Shanann and actually resented her like he does his mom and 2. If NK exposed him, his life and marriage as he knew it was over, he went along with the plan and ultimately was thrown under the bus by NK.
Theres obviously a lot more to it, but Im just wondering how long it will be before Chris is tired and ticked off about being the only one in prison and he finally rolls on his accomplices?

Totally agree about the private school thing. My folks could only afford to send one of us to private school & it was me, the youngest, both my folks worked to do that. You only do that out of love, it's hard to maintain till graduation & a huge commitment for any parent. To twist that & say it was trying to not look after your kids, or have more time to yourself is crazy.
