This area is now at the top of my list for future ski trips. Also, thank you for not having all sorts of fancy camera angles, or idiotic music...just the sights and sounds of a wonderful place. And I agree with an earlier reviewer---make more of these !
We normally do this but in reverse. We stay in Val Thorens but always do a ski over to Courchevel 1650 for lunch at Cucina Angelina! Long day but worth it!

The first 15 minutes were filmed with a GoPro HERO 8 Black . But the camera and especially the battery are far too sensitive to cold (-15°C) Consequently my GoPro failed me after 20 min of recording I had to improvise and continue filming with my iPhone in my right hand for the rest of the day... Fortunately my iPhone 13Pro MAX was much more resistant to the cold of the GoPro!
That looked like hard work one-handed with the iPhone. Shame the GoPro let you down as the video was great from it. Enjoyed skiing along and following on the Piste map. Would have been nice to have a gimbal in a chest mount, so you could ski normally. More than likely camera view, but some of the overtakes looked a bit of collision about to happen. Have skied out of St Martin and Meribel over a good number of years. Even at 80+ hope to enjoy it again. Best Dave

Ça fait plus de 15 ans que je me rend trois voir quatre fois par ans aux trois vallées, et il n'y a pas à chiez : c'est vraiment le meilleur domaine skiable au monde ! J'ai aussi vu que tu t'étais arrêté à la folie douce ! J'espère que tu y a pris une tarte aux myrtilles (elle sont succulentes et vachement généreuses !).

I only recently learned how to ski in one of the French resorts. I absolutely loved it! I loved the vast space and mountains. I also loved the silence, thank you for not putting any junk music or other sound, just pure slide and wind! Brought my memories back, can't wait for my next skiing time...

Amazing video - nice to recognize most of the trip. Miss Val T, Mottaret, Meribel, Menuires and Courchevel. Visits in ´86, ´08, ´10-´12 and the last time in ´14. Will return.

In 1997 I made this very trip. I had just learned to ski and we were unaware that you normally take a shuttle back to Courchevel so we skied to Val Thorens AND back....in one day. It about killed me!! Great video and thanks for the glorious memories!
A few years ago I tried to do the same thing and managed to fall and tear my ACL on the return journey. I suspect I will be getting the shuttle if I return...
Really enjoyed watching this. Spent a season working in Courchevel 1650 and this brings back some amazing memories and the ski route I did most days! 🥰

Imaginez- un jour tu et Fanny, vous êtes allés chez moi à Vancouver, et presque le lendemain tu t'arrêtes directement devant de la fenêtre de ma chambre ou j'ai vécu au sous-sol de l'Hotel le Val Thorens (1:01:36). J'y ai travaillé comme Réceptionnaire en 1992. Ma fenêtre se trouve sous le mot "Bar". Merci de ces beaux souvenirs sous l'immense ciel bleu - tel que je me rappelle comme c'était hier!

Wow God out did himself the French Alps take my breath away. I lived in Paris for 3 years and never made it to the Alps, although it was a dream to go i just never found the time, what a mistake.
These sloes and runs are beautiful. And the scenery jaw dropping 😮I’m heading to France in December to visit my son and grandson and want to ski here. M 72, in excellent shape(black belt) but have had a knee replacement. So I need nice gentle runs like these. Can’t wait 😝

Я в захваті від того, що, тримаючи в одній руці дві лижні палиці, а в іншій - айфон, Ви так гарно "тримали" зображення на протязі всього катання! Сорок з лишнім років тому я теж їздила в Карпати кататися на лижах, але і лижник з мене був слабенький, і схили були простіші, але емоції ті самі! From Sweden, used to ski in 3 vallées as a teenager 81 - 85. Val Thorens use to be much smaller, stayed at Temple du Soleil. Great ski tour!!
