@Drone Strike maybe because the native people of africa dont speak Chinese? Many african nations speak Portuguese, french and german. So rather send a peace keeping force that speaks the language. Not like the US that went to the middle east and had to find translators and then sit with people who rat out military movements

The Portuguese are absolutely underrated soldiers ! They are such amazing soldiers, the colonial wars in Mozambique, Angola, Guinea Bissau are just crazy. They were never well equipped, always outnumbered, fighting against guys trained and armed by the USSR, and yet they did such a great job. Obviously they couldn't win those wars, being such a tiny country with a very small population, but honestly, whoever knows about history and military stuff would agree with me on this ! After Portugal pulled out of Africa, so many portuguese soldiers joined elite units with the South African Defense Forces as well as the Rhodesian Army.

But it's crazy cause if you take a Portuguese and Spanish speaker and ask them to talk slowly to each other they will understand pretty well, apart from minor false-friend words and unknown words for each other. False friends are words that is the same thing when written but different meanings, for example "borracha", in portuguese means rubber, but in Spanish is feminine for drunk lol

They have to.... the portuguese unit there is a very rare type of force to see serving in a UN mission. They are actualy deployd to deliver force, wich is very rare. That said, and especialy considering its a UN mission, the portuguese government is obviously gona want to record it. A religious official, islamic one, had accused the portuguese of crimes and killing civilians "like other UN contigents regulary do", in his words, and "that the portuguese are no different", thanks to the footage (not the one you see, this one is relatively filtered and you dont actualy see the enemy geting fu###) the portuguese were able to prove they are in fact a efficient force, that doesnt fall in to that kind of shit).
This QRF is more like a peace enforcement unit than a peace keeping that you normaly see. Thats because other contigents are tasked primarly with that more common role in this UN mission. The portuguese commandos (they were actualy the firt ones to go, for six months, they will be surrendering the paratroopers soon actualy) and paratroopers however are the ones that inforce it when the rebels cross the limits imposed by they peace deals. Cause the probability of firefighters is so great, since they are routinely and specifically assigned for that, recording the combat is a good solution to avoid false accusations.

Sadly you're right, but there are many conflicts where we can find common interest in like in Syria, now that it's almost stabilized.
      Ukraine is in a stalemate.
There's more conflicts of interests I think we can get pass if we try hard enough, conflicts we could possibly find common ground on or give up on (Example: Afghanistan)
If millions can join together and believe in a system like communism and keep opportunistic mentality I will keep a shed of hope for joint US and Russia dream coming true.
