Head On, to me, is the best game in the series. It strikes a good balance of fun with challenge. Black is more of the fan favourite because of it's story elements and tone, however I've always felt that Black was less of Twisted Metal game and more of a vehicle for David Jaffe to throw shade at 989 Studios. The story might be toned down in Head On but I think it was a good way to cap off the story that started with the original Twisted Metal. If the series was to ever return I hope it's more in Head On's style than the Black style.
I liked this game. I only played it on a PSP emulator a few years back--a good decade or two after my obsession with TM2 as a kid. I wish I had discovered it sooner, but I gave up on the Twisted Metal series after TM4 and only rediscovered Head On later. The maps were kinda meh but overall good game and much better successor to TM2.
And Head On also. They should end the series properly by having Roadkill or Grasshopper wake up from the dream world and return to their normal lives. Small Brawl needs a sequel too. Would be fun if they gave it a more mature South Park style vibe where they're still teens but it's edgy and witty.
Would love to see an analysis of each player’s story in the franchise 👀
My favorite TM! Black gameplay with old TM aesthetic!
This was also my first, and so far only, Twisted Metal game I’ve played. Really high quality and I played it for tons of hours as a kid.
You should play the others

They really managed to squeeze a lot on there!
They also added the character 12-Pak in Twisted Metal Lost in the extra twisted edition of Head-On
I still have the Extra Twisted edition around somewhere, you're making me want to pop it back in!
Great review and a game I still enjoy.

Keep up the good work, I hope your channel kicks off big time soon, you deserve it
Now if only we can get a proper sequel to TM: Black

This was my proper introduction to the franchise shame the PS2 version wasn't released in the UK
TM is just cursed to be crap in PAL regions
