  • Realistic Camera Movement Tutorial | Documentary Style | Stop Motion Tutorial
    I love the documentary style camera moments when you can tell that there’s a cameraman trying to keep up with the action. It makes the video just seem more real to me. In this tutorial, I go over a basic movement that helps pull the viewer into the scene. It gives the impression that the viewer is right there in the room, watching the dialogue unfold.
    If you haven't already, please watch my first camera movement tutorial. This covers the basics on what I do in this video.
    Here is the link: • LEGO Stop Motion: How ...
    I shoot everything on a Canon t3i with the Dragonframe 4 software. I then edit it all with Final Cut Pro.

      Thank you very much!!! I’m glad you enjoy the videos! I do the medical stuff because it’s what I know best (I’m a nurse). I do love Star Wars, Marvel, DC, and so many other themes, though!!! My favorite is Star Wars 😁😁😁

    Can you make a tutorial how to make the camera move like not in documentary but like when it’s just about someone’s life and there’s no camera man so like the Lego movie

      @@Brickology kinda, what I mean is like toy story there isn’t really camera movement unless it’s tracking something or someone and like how the camera shifts and it’s just like showing the toys life

    Your tutorials are always great - very informative and great case examples! Some very accurate observations you've made on how documentary style filming is done. Great job! Would you ever do a tutorial on different types of lighting and such!? Thanks a lot for sharing this and keep up the wonderful work!

    What do you think about shooting a very wide shot that captures both minifigures, then zooming and panning in post?

    • @Brickology
      @Brickology  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think if you can do it, then yes go for it! I do some panning in post as well. I like doing as many things in camera, though. It has a certain feel. I agree with you though!

    • @TracerBullet100
      @TracerBullet100 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      As awesome as in camera can be, sometimes the focus and mess of the practical effects can be a little too ambitious to complete. Thanks for your insight though. My next video might use some in camera like in this video and some wide shots with camera movement added in post for those tricky focus shots.

    Does it matter if you do the voice acting first then the stop motion or is it just based on preference?

    • @Brickology
      @Brickology  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would suggest doing the voice first. It gives you a better sense of timing for the movements. When I started I did the stop motion first and tried to cram the voices into it. Although it worked, I found that it made the two seem detached. Once I started doing dialogue first, everything clicked more for me. 😊👍

    Damn, I want dragon frame so bad!! Also, do you need a cord to connect the camera to the computer or is it like, wifi or Bluetooth or something?

    • @Brickology
      @Brickology  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just a usb cable connects the camera to the computer. There’s a controller you can use that’s either usb or Bluetooth. Dragonframe isn’t cheap but for me it was well worth the investment. I love how I can see what I’m doing on the computer. I need the big screen!
