Arrow through the Heart | Robin Hood Remix | Jeesh

- The second I heard 'Alice' by Pogo (*Fagottron) I was inspired to try and create my own.
This is my rework of 'Robin Hood' in the musical and visual style of Pogo. This song is created by tiny little snipits from the film 'Robin Hood' then rearranged to create something diffrent. The Kick was made from an arrow hitting a tree with a bass boost and various other sounds like glass smashing and little taps create the kit. Not forgetting the delicious Sine wave bass to keep it flowing. Oo-De-Lally!

Enjoy!
I listen to this periodically throughout years of my life just to remind myself this exists and feel the feelings it gives me ❤
Between "Grow Fonder" and "Arrow Through the Heart", This is good.
I can't decide which one I like more. They are both equally good to me!
Ah, Disney's Robin Hood. Probably my favourite movie of all time. No idea why, I didn't grow up with it or anything. Something about it just... brings me comfort... Maybe it's my love for both animation and the medieval era. In fact, most medieval movies seem to have that effect on me. I feel this strange nostalgic sensation, like it was the era I was meant to be in, but missed out on it. It sounds weird, but... Does anyone else feel kinda like they're... Lost in time? Or is it just me?
Jess McSkimmings it's called anemoia
Count me on that. I feel strange and happy when i watch this film.
"Patience, patience, my dear. Remember absence makes the heart grow fonder." "Or forgetful." Tell me about it.....
My husband sent me this song when we were just dating. I fell in love with him all over again when I watched and heard it. I still love this song so much. Thank you for creating it.
i used to play club penguin with this playing on loop in another tab.i was probably around 7. thank you for the memories.
Love Pogo but jeesh takes the cake on this one
fastdogrun yeppp
fastdogrun agree
So I decided to actually listen to this song after listening to Nick's remix and this is equally as good as Nick's rendition of it.
birdertweet even tho i love pogo. i kinda prefer this
birdertweet you're everywhere haha
Wow! This is definitely up to Pogo's quality....in some ways even better because I like hearing longer speech samples than just syllables . Great job :)
man you gotta love the internet community.
often you have a lot of people crapping on the good work of others,
but then you have people who do something really awesome!
Groovy beat with a clear message about insecurities about love... That's how Bill Bailey would see it... and so do I! love it! Brings back childhood memories of a great animated movie.
What a lovely little tribute! Robin Hood was always one of my favorite Disney movies, and you've managed to capture the innocent romance that I love so much! Well done!
i love this sooo much
loved pogo from the begining
this tribute is soooo great
keep em up
love how creative people can be
0:06 the drugs start kicking in
Wow this is gorgeous artistry. Such a great movie and full of wonderful memories. The ending was so romantic. I hope every couple finds that one person they love dearly. Or as our favorite robin the hood puts it, "more than life itself"!
woah what happened to the comments
Amazing, amazing job. This is very addictive! I'm trying to find the words to explain how much i like this! It's brilliant.
one of my favorit childhood movies growin up. love it that much more!
To Jeesh: " I love " ur songs " more then life itself " 😁
I'll be honest, when I clicked this link, I was expecting something really bad. I've loved Pogo for a while, and this remix really captures his essence, great job! Keep 'em coming
The whole thing is pretty catchy. I listen to this a lot, but every single time the last 20 seconds or so really gets me. Sappy endings, my one weakness!
grown man here, but being married...from 1:33 till the end, I got teary eyed. Awesome vid!!!!
The speech used at the beginning, in the ways of standard Pogo format, is intriguing and an anticipatory fade into the magick of the musick. And when the remixed orchestra tidbits kicked in, I was INSTANTLY impressed. You REALLY captured Pogo's ethereal quality in those riffs-- it's VERY emotional-- it echoes and lilts on some memory of a time before! Glory. *grins*
@0FlightlessBird0
totally agree - its crazy how the genre is so fresh and new with the unique style of chopped A/V, that it still doesn't even have a name or label that it all falls under -
I am calling it SNIP HOP for the time being.
I saw this video 24 times when I was a child. Love it!
It really casts the inimitable, enigmatic aura that is Pogo-- the dreamy quality that overtakes with the SOUND. *grins* 5'd and fav'd, as you already know. You're the bon-diggety, man'g. *grins* I surely do hope Mr. Bertke takes a listen here!
Awww I remember this film when I was younger. It was one of my faves! Strangely I remember this film more than any other films.
kudos, i think this should become a genre into itself. seems like pogo is the type of guy that would be down for it too. His willingness to share his workflows and hardware has been a real inspiration both in my tools and my attitudes towards creating and sharing music. It's like a John Peel philosophy.
Jeesh, I found you through Pogo and love him and his work. I've been listening to you for months now and i STILL come back to this song. It's my favorite song of yours, I like it even more than Pogos songs which is saying a LOT!
LETS GOO ITS NOT MARKED FOR KIDS ANYMORE!!
I fell in love with this immediately.
The ending scene with two of them looking at each other deeply, and darkening, it looks like a beginning of a nightmare.
Dude, you really should make a longer version of this - this remix is one of my favorites. Fantastic job!
The ending is so beautiful. The way he pauses before he responds and he addresses Marianne directly instead of the king.
Also because he's so little next to the guards with the ropes, yet he's still proud and speaks clearly. I cry every time. I think I've watched this video 300 mornings in the past 2 years.
every god damn time six years still tears and goosebumps
And because of your superior skills, you should get what is coming to you...
A sick Pogo Tribute, and a great track.
This is exactly what i was lookin' for, people that learned watching Pogo how to make awesome music, I love it. :D
This makes me happier than I can express in a TH-cam comment. Thank you, very much.
Honestly the best Robin Hood Remix on youtube
I can't help but comment once more. I do notice the loudness of the beats compared to the audio, but it's so good, I don't care. In my opinion, the entire thing blends completely together and the beats and vocals go PERFECTLY together. There is NOTHING about this song that I dislike whatsoever, save that it's not very long. I listen to this every day, it's just that addicting! THANK YOU JEESH! :D
cant control...the feels...
Oh my God I simply ADORE your music. I've grown to recognize your style immediately...and it's very different from Pogo's - in a very good way! :) Within the first few seconds of your tracks, I immediately know it's you. What a great talent
Out of all the pogo tributes, i think you nail them the best, with a sense of style your own.
And all the dialogue chosen throughout the entire song is VERY reminiscent of Carry On Cruising's dialogue used in Go Out and Love Someone, but with plenty of diff'rent content to keep it from seeming some unimaginative knock-off. All the video footage cobbled together equally enhances the song in its sheer beauty. -- I mean, REALLY, some of those reaction shots to the music are just EXPERTLY chosen.
Ah man this movie was the shit back in the day I feel the need to watch it again :)
Very cool. I'm a huge Pogo fan too. If I may say: keep making tracks like this and develop your own style, find out what you can do to make it unique. Hope to hear more of your work soon.
just the perfect ending, simply the best
I love this video more than life itself.
H E Y R E M E M B E R M E ?
Somehow I read this as "Arrow through the knee"
I had a relationship once, like you..then I got an arrow through the knee
Ograws I fell in love once..like you..then I got an arrow through the heart.
Ace Seville good to know
CLASSIC Jeesh! It's so funny to watch this and then watch his new Nintendo 3DS remix. He has improved so much!
You're truly near Pogo's spirit, as this video made me want to watch this movie again.
Keep going, very good work !!
Pogo brought me here.
What a romantic way to end this remix. Nostalgia is the arrow.
One of the best I've heard/seen, beautiful work, build up to 57 seconds is soooooo perfect
I absolutely teared at the ending. Good job.
loved this movie.
@twinklepug I would strongly suggest you still do it! Its not a race to get to the film that no one has done before. I loved this film after some inspiration from Nick I decided to use it.
this is beautiful. it's almost like i'm actually listening to one of pogo's mixes.
love this movie and song.
This...is...PRETTY AWSOME
@Telekarte I started sampling April 14 last year, when I got my self a copy of Fruity loops after I found out Pogo used it . My first ambition was to make a Wall-e mix. After countless amounts of loops made there never did arise a Wall-e mix and especially seeing that Pogo had made his own. I also had films like Pete's Dragon and The Rescuers all of which I was never happy but still was a way for me to satisfy my passion for sampling. I then moved on to other films that I am working on now.
One of my favorite childhood movies :)
A wonderful collage of sound
This warmed my heart. I had TH-cam just auto playing from 'Alice' by Pogo and ended up here and nearly cried (I may be in an altered state). I love Robin Hood. Thank you for sharing your remix.
Favorite. Movie. Ever.
I LIVE FOR THE ENDING
Oh my god. This is awesome. Pogo has it, you have it too! THANK YOU!
1:27 Omg, this part is soo cute! *----*
Can't stop listening to this, awesome beats!
anyone else love the arrow that repeatedly goes through John's hat?
not only that how can anyone dance with a broken leg i ask you 0:54
FATBRUCELOL APPLEBEE You make an excellent point. how did I not see that before? lol
"and because of your superior skill you should get what is coming to you" *steff hands you trophy for awesomeness*
and yes I have seen the disney one before
As if Nick is anywhere near the biting, icy vice of a grasp of death yet! And Josh, I think, doesn't want to be known simply for being like Pogo! His sound's evolving, too, in his own different direction.
Simply blissful. I was secretly hoping that Pogo made a Robin Hood video, but this more than compensates! :D Thank you!
I love this so much.
wow!!!!! impressive!!!!! if only it were longer, but this a new favorite of mine! ....now i wanna make one.....
Also, this only happened, like, TWICE this time-- in Walking on a Dream, it was way more-- but make sure when you're editing, you don't leave split-second remains of one shot when going over to the next. I think that's one of the things that really will distinguish the quality-- how clean the cuts are between scenes.
Also, one last positive comment: your use of the female vocals from Love is heavenly-- your sampling was just utterly PERFECT.
You got favorited by Pogo, Jeesh! Aren't you excited?! In fact, this is near the top of my Pogo playlist at the moment with over 500 plays from me over six months. But for Pogo to favorite your rather awesome mix... *bows*.
if I didn't know better, I would think this was Pogo. Well done!
"I love you more than life itself" best line
VERY well done! Very pogoesque and one of the better ones I've seen that hasn't been done by Pogo. Nice!
I want to pump pogo-style music directly into my brain. Then put into a coma. I won't be missing anything in life.
This is stunning!! Great work, really captured the pogo essence
this is gorgeous
Omg I use to watch this all the time. Ahhh the memories. :)
I remember watching this close to when you posted it, and being a hardcore Pogo fan, I loved this as well. Now you've come so far from then and I've watched both of you progress, so proud of where you are now with your music :)
this is probably the best remix that ive heard that actually has a pogo feel to it, great job :D
This is so lovely:) It's showing love in such a magical sweet innocent way, I love you more that life itself, treasured tuned art, like an arrow through the heart :-)
Beautiful song
gives me goosebumps
Pogo inspired music is beautiful.
oh my gosh - this is so amazing, it almost made my cry!
Yeah! I was hoping Pogo himself would make a micromix of this movie, it's one of my childhood favorites.Glad you did.
I shall call you Mini Pogo, Jeesh from now on. :)
Please continue.~
This is awesome. Pogo is amazing but you come after him. Great job
I've been listening to your soundcloud all day, you're doing wonders for my schoolwork. Keep making great music like this or like the 8 bit album, I can't wait for a first Jeesh - album!
"Absence makes a heart grow fonder" So true...
*shivers* I love this.
You did a great job Jeesh, Keep at it. I'm sure Pogo loved this.
I really like this video. I love this genre that Pogo's created. Good job.
beautiful
Awesome job Pogo would be proud this is something you bump to in your ride "Hey remember me?" Hahaha
