I love how you eat the food at the end! Some cooking show hosts just show off the finished dishes like they're museum pieces, but your videos remind me that the most important part of cooking food is eating and enjoying it!
Jaqhnun If I was her, I would forget I was on camera and stuff my face. I'm sure at the end, you would see empty plates while I'm saying, "See you next time! Bye!" Lol
That's my favorite part too! Cooking food is an enjoyable experience when it's being eaten especially when you share it with others, even if it's through a video like Maangchi.
Maangchi is always in style and such an inspiration! We can have grown children and still be vibrant 🌶🔨🌷. I'm with you hyuneeEats, want some right now! Curious to see if you do it 😉

I don’t know about anyone else but I’m starting to run the numbers on my retirement funds to come up with enough money to have her cook for me during my retirement. Come on lottery numbers.😂
I spent many years in Korea as an English teacher/professor. Watching your videos makes me miss Korean food and Korean people. I'm a terrible cook, but I have some good Korean restaurants near me and you remind me of all the things I want to order. Thank you.
This is my son's absolute favorite dish, he requests it several times a year and always on his birthday. Everything I have ever tried from this channel has been delicious!
Maangchi, I just went to say thank you for opening the door to k-food. You have really spiced up my food for me. Also, I have gotten so many compliments from your recipes I have the deepest respect for you.
I love this recipe Maangchi. I've tried it with pork, chicken, beef and even tofu. It's such a wonderful dish. I make this when we have gatherings and every one asks me how I know to make delicious Korean food. I tell them I learn it from my Korean Mum Maangchi 💖 thank you so much 🥰
Love her cute hat, the way she talks, eat, beautiful face and most importantly her amazing sense of humor, no one gets old beside her. Love you Maangchi Xxx
For about a year now I've actually been making a similar dish that I came up with one night; chicken pieces with gochujang, plenty of garlic and onion, and soy sauce, stir fried until the chicken is cooked and the sauce becomes sticky (I still think it was inspired by Maangchi though because I would have never know what gochujang was without her haha). It's become a regular dish in my house; even my dad, who's more of a classic-American, meat-and-potatoes sort of guy, loves it. I've never thought of making a pork version but I bet my family will love it too! Thanks for all the cooking inspiration, Maangchi!

Watching this makes me miss my grandmother's cooking. I just moved away from here and I miss her traditional Korean dishes. She makes amazing cucumber kimchi as well... mmm.
Just made this. It is SO GOOD!!! A little sweet mixed with spicy, chewy and crunchy! And SO SO QUICK TO MAKE!! My new favorite meal!! Thank you for the videos! Can't wait to see what your next one is!!
Giving chicken as another option for those who can't eat pork for no matter what reason is so CONSIDERED of you !! Thank you Maangchi u have such a warm heart !
Just made this tonight. Had to make some substitutions since we didn’t have the proper chili paste or red pepper flakes, but it still turned out amazing!!! Going to hunt for the proper ingredients so I can properly enjoy this again. Thanks Maangchi!
Sorry for taking so long to reply. My notifications were messed up. But I used the rooster chili paste, and then took some regular chili flakes (like what some people put on pizza) and ran them through a spice grinder to make them a fine powder. Used a lot less of the red pepper flakes compared to the Korean red pepper flakes. Have since made this with the proper ingredients and it’s so much more amazing!!!
I cooked this today for myself though I had to make some adjustments. Instead of using gochugaru, I used spanish paprika because it was the only thing available and I didn't use sesame oil because I didn't have it in my pantry. I was only supposed to marinate it for an hour or so but I fell asleep and marinated it for 5 hours instead, haha! I absolutely recommend it though. The meat was sooo flavorful! Also, I cooked it by continuously adding water when it dried out until I reached 20 minutes. When the 20 minutes were finished, I let it dry out on the pan and letting the fat render. Ended up with really really tender and flavorful dwaeji bokkeum! Thanks for the recipe Maangchi! 😆
I love your cooking Maangchi. Today I made this for dinner. Me and my son really enjoyed it. Thank you so much for sharing. I have become a Korean style cook. Credit goes to you. God bless you.

I love gochujang so much that I bought a kilogram of it despite not knowing very many good recipes to use it in. I saw this dish on a Korean restaurant's menu but I can't afford to eat there, so I just whipped it up myself. Only, instead of using delicious, fresh pork belly, I used week old, discounted flank steak. It was still delicious, and I knew it would be because it has in it everything I love. I was really afraid when cooking it because the meat was old and it didn't look good, and I had to use a stock pot so I was blowing on it the whole time to try to get the moisture to evaporate, but of course it turned out perfect and delicious because it's a Maangchi recipe. Thank you!!!
For a long time this was one of my favourite things to eat in Korea. Perfect before a night out in Hongdae, can't wait to try this recipe. Will probably add cheese to the bokkeum bap because that's how we used to have it. You're aways inspiring me to cook Korean, even made kimchi jjigae this morning! This dish is so easy and delicious. Now i know what maangchi means by crunchy in this recipe. Thanks Maangchi.

Thank you very much Maangchi!!!
Yummy!!! It is my favorite recipe I learned from you! So delicious. Easy and quick like you say to make and you have a meal with rice and soup and cucumber kimchi. So good. I'm hungry now.
Hello Maanchi! I was wondering if you would like to update your sujeonggwa recipe, perhaps providing an alternative to persimon? Thanks for all your time, the hard work and the passion you put in your videos! I admire you!
I love pork so much since I stay in korea for more than 4 years. I am indonesian that never eat pork or lard before but the first bite of pork meat that I eat is when I am in korea, then I eat it so much oftenly until now 🤣
Looks so good! I believe the gochujang, soy sauce, red pepper flakes, sesame oil and spices added to the pork is similar to the dwaejigogi spicy pork marinade at the Korean barbecue restaurants? Looking forward to using the above ingredients as a marinade for pork and/or chicken, for wok stir frying. I use an outdoor commercial grade propane wok burner and 14” round bottom Mandarin style wok, so the cooking time would be less than three minutes with the pork belly sliced a bit thicker, and I would add the minced garlic, ginger and onions later so as to not burn them. I imagine the dwaejigogi would pair well with chilled Jinro 24 soju. Thanks for posting! Subscribed!
After trying 3 of your recipes, I decided to finally go to K-Mart and buy the same spices you use - the paste and the red pepper flakes. This dish was absolutely stunning !
Hi Maangchi. You look so pretty in this video.Floral and pink suit you.Thank you for this recipe.I love eating barbecued pork belly and this dish is making my mouth water.
I have been following this channel for a few years now and i absolutely love watching and trying some of the easier dishes 😄😄😄 Its a bit difficult getting all the ingredients....there are no korean stores in Assam and i dont like ordering food in Amazon as they sometimes send outdated stuff ...i am hoping there would be a korean restaurant in assam as well in maybe a few years😔😔
I made this for my picky korean mom and she loved it! Thank you Maangchi :D

Subscribed!
i made this today and it was AWESOME!!! just try it guys!!!
After trying 3 of your recipes, I decided to finally go to K-Mart and buy the same spices you use - the paste and the red pepper flakes. This dish was absolutely stunning !
One day I'm gonna make one of these delicious dishes!

I have been following this channel for a few years now and i absolutely love watching and trying some of the easier dishes 😄😄😄 Its a bit difficult getting all the ingredients....there are no korean stores in Assam and i dont like ordering food in Amazon as they sometimes send outdated stuff ...i am hoping there would be a korean restaurant in assam as well in maybe a few years😔😔
This is my favorite Korean food sooo gooooodd
