    Another great lesson, so much useful information. I really liked the Dr John - Accentuate the Positive - intro you went through. I was curious about what he was playing and intererstingly I see the main part of the song is another song that goes from the 1 to the 3 dominant which relates to the question I asked. Thanks again and congrats on completing your training. Look forward to the upcoming song tutorials.

      Thomas he posted a walking bassline tutorial with tons of great transitions I learned besides the classic 1 to 4 walkup , you can use just instead them in the chop

      Another helpful transition note- most basslines strictly workin moving off root note going up /down 1 3 5 6 7b Octave. Take these notes chunk them in groups of 4 and 8 and pay attention to the last note of the groups of 4/8. You can create new basslines/chunks AKA transition points by removing /adding the 7b or 6th ,octave . If run up/down starting on roots of 1/4/5 but also selectively adding /removing 6th, 7b. You end of Many 4/8 note chunks and transition points. to cover longer distances between next chord roots you can add extra step or Chromactic on 4 and beat.
      Other big one I learned to stay in bass range which veryy helpful is dropping a 6th below from root instead of 1-3 you go octave 8 down to third. That’s biggie and
      Bonus straight chromatics nearly always anywhere between 6th to octave, minor 3rd to 5th lastly 2nd to major 3 on any chord. That might be a complete distallaton of the most useful stuff believe it or not 😂

    Hey Arthur, congrats on getting that degree. I know the struggles of studying at a later age:)
    I recently became a channel member. How can I submit suggestions for Song Tutorials?

    First of all congratulations secondly is there some easy way to learn and practice “Roll ‘um Pete”I’ve got both books but need some help with Pete Johnson Thanks

    • @thearthurmigliazza
      @thearthurmigliazza  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Roy, thank you! Ummmm, there's not real "easy way" to play like Pete Johnson unfortunately. If you're stuck on some particular licks or something let me know. We can always do a private lesson to address specific needs. Also, I believe I did a tutorial on Roll em Pete in the Member Requested Song Tutorials playlist. So be sure to check that out too. Hopefully it helps.

    Hello everyone, I have a slightly unrelated question: do you know any free software that writes music sheet from sound? I tried one but it did not work. I am rusty on music writing and with the two piano keys, I find it a nightmare :/

    • @thearthurmigliazza
      @thearthurmigliazza  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Thomas that would be awesome if that existed... I don't know of it. Closest thing is to play it on a midi keyboard and get the midi information recorded. From there you can have the score visualized and you can make adjustments. I think Valerie actually uses that sort of software..
