    Stevo, It's OK that life gets in the way, it's OK that we feel overwhelmed, it's OK that we just dont think about running given everything going on. Fair play to you for sharing, just make sure you have someone that you can share this with (not us YT idiot / trolls / know it alls / perfect life fools). Much respect to you for sharing though

    "Its Okay To Be Not Okay"- Thank you for sharing mate. I can totally relate. Sometimes life just gets in the road and that's alright as you'll always have running to fall back on when the time is right. Self care is the most important thing and your doing just that. I will be posting one similar to this in the coming weeks. As its been School summer holidays and I go into full on dad mode during that time. I find it very difficult to fit in training /work and childcare. Its just too much. Then the is the added pressure of felling the need to post vlogs- but I don't let that stress me out. I make sure the number 1 is okay first and that's my family. Chin up mate and looking forward to seeing you smashing those upcoming races.

      Thank you Stephen! I hope you come through ok too, it can be a stressful time and you’re right, family comes first! All the best mate I’ll keep an eye out for your video.

    As someone with a young family i've been through exactly all you have been talking about minus the running. Best advice I can give is it will pass and it will get better. Only started running 5 weeks ago after getting into a bit of a bad place. Running has hugely saved my mental state and just know, you may be only documenting your journey for yourself but unknowingly you are also inspiring people like me to do better and improve themselves. You got this 💪

      This is so nice to read mate, honestly. I’m glad you’re feeling better all round and getting into running and thanks for the advice about it passing, it’s just taking a long time this time but will get there. Thanks for writing 🥲

    Very sorry to hear of your Nan's passing Stevo. My Mother in Law who lived with us passed away too two weeks ago, she was 92 though. Try not to get too stressed mate with your family duties and run when you can. Hope you get your head cleared soon and back to some running normality

      Thank you Kev and sorry to hear about your mother in law too, that’s horrible especially when they’re living with you too. I’ll be ok mate cheers and already feeling a bit more perked up after making this video. Sometimes you’ve just got to let out your feelings and it makes you feel better. All the best mate

    Hiya mate. Just been watching a few of your videos. Wanted to say they've been really helpful for me. You even inspired a 5am run for me this morning. Hope the life stresses pass quickly for you - everything does pass. The main reason I am getting into running is to help with stress. I have a 2 n half year old too so I feel your pain...Keep making the videos - would love to see what equipment you use such as compression wear, tech etc.

      Hey Andrew. I’m glad some of the vids have been helpful and well done for getting it done early today, it really sets the day up nicely. Sorry you’ve got a 2 year old too 😂 they’re a nightmare at times but we wouldn’t be without them. I’ll make a video explaining everything I’ve used and use currently. Cheers for the idea. Hope your runnings going well!

    So glad you got your place in Race to the King mate. Just run for joy my man. If it brings you peace and calmness then train that way for awhile. Balls to the targets. Sometimes you just got to run when you can mate.

    Funny you should say that, I've been in a similar place lately. Still running but not at the levels I was doing before, and not liking the feeling of not quite being in the shape I was last year when I was hoping to push on. Need to turn it around! Best of luck with your turning it around.

    Only found your channel yesterday mainly due to the MAF rabbit hole, just watched this and needed to say it’s fine that you’re not feeling like you used to due to life, kids the single biggest thing that can get in the way of anything 😂 I have 3 girls and the youngest is nearly 4 and in my experience so far that’s when things start getting a little bit easier and actually more fun.
    Keep up the videos and appreciate all your MAF videos

    • @StevoRuns
      @StevoRuns  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for writing James. Fair play mate, I don’t know how you’re coping with 3 girls. My 2 girls are 10 (like a teen) and 2.5 (terrible 2s in full swing) and it’s not easy as you know. We’re away on holiday at the moment and feel like I’m winding down nicely so hopefully it continues from here. I love the MAF rabbit hole too mate 😂 been there a fair few times. Cheers bud

      @@StevoRuns appreciate the reply!
      I’ve been running on and off for years and picking up silly injuries.
      Like most up until 2 weeks ago I had the mindset that if I’m running I need to be killing myself every time and I didn’t enjoy it.
      Then I started thinking there must be another way here I am just turned 40 over a week ago.
      Been doing MAF for about 9 runs now my heart rate according to 180 max plus resting heart rate is about 146. First 4 runs were very much walk/run but then about run 5 I noticed a very tiny improvement on times and sticking to the MAF number.
      Then yesterday I did short 5k (after a 9k the day before) and I was barely walking apart from the last KM where my heart rate struggled to stabilise.
      I’m seeing slow results but more importantly I’m not completely knackered after every run and feel great and the next day I feel I’m ready to go again versus being knackered and not wanting to do it again.
      Honestly I’m sticking with it that 9k I did was the furthest I’ve ever run and today/tomorrow I’m having rest days and Saturday I’m going for the full 10k.
      Apologies for the long reply, I think I’ve binge watched about 10 of your videos today and it’s inspired me to keep going.

    • @StevoRuns
      @StevoRuns  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @jamesmcintyre4287 you’ve done what we’ve all done and realised how running should be! Fast running can come later once you plateau again in the future. It’s great that you’re seeing progress after 9 runs too as it can take others months and they lose patience but you have a reason to keep it up now. It’s so good when you get fast at no effort at all and before you know it, that 10k will be a regular run for you.
      Great work so far mate, I hope the vids helped and give us a shout if you need any pointers or just to let us know your progress, I’m always happy to hear them 👍🏼

    These things happens unfortunately mate. All u have to do is pick yourself up and go again. Keep turning up, work your running around your family and try and get a better routine. As for the half marathon u r doing i would be running the second half of it at marathon pace and adding 30seconds a mile onto the first halfs pace. That will be a confidence booster run thats all. If u bust yourself it will ruin your marathon. And stevo u r not to good at recovering lol so nothing mad on that half. Or u could go all out for the half and take the full marathon easy, its up to yourself. Have u ever thought about joining a running club? It has alot of benefits

    • @StevoRuns
      @StevoRuns  ปีที่แล้ว

      Cheers Kyle! Yes I’ve been getting the runs in when I can for the last few weeks but progress feels slow this time, I’m just ticking over really. You’re right, I’m not good at recovery haha. I think I am going to prioritise the marathon and like you said, use Oxford half as a confidence run. Good shout. I’ve not thought of joining a club really as it seems they do a lot of evening runs which is the wrong end of the day for my normal routine but I’ll look into it again and see how it all works with them. Cheers mate

      @kyle9256 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@StevoRuns if u join a club and don't turn up every week it's not a problem, but it might make u get out more, compete more, do more events that u don't even know that happens. There is no pressure in a club. I would say get into one and if u don't like it u don't like it, no big deal. It will definitely bring u on, trust me
