In this video, we explore Mr. Jones on the TikTok Live stream, he said why women don't want to cook and clean. It is not accurate to assume that all women do not want to cook and clean for men. Women have diverse interests, careers, and lifestyles, and it is not fair to generalize their preferences based on gender stereotypes.
It is important to understand that both men and women can experience fatigue and stress from work and other responsibilities, and it is essential to support each other in managing household chores and other duties. In a healthy relationship or marriage, both partners should communicate and work together to balance their responsibilities and find a system that works for them. Traditional gender roles are defined by society's expectations of how men and women should behave, work, and contribute to their households and communities. In traditional gender roles, men are expected to be the breadwinners, providers, and protectors, while women are expected to be caregivers, nurturers, and homemakers. However, in recent times, there has been a significant shift in attitudes toward traditional gender roles. Women have become more empowered and are now more likely to pursue education and careers outside the home.

If being too tired to cook after work is a constant problem, ironically (or maybe unironically) you need to check your diet. If they're always too tired to cook after work, I can only imagine the processed and unhealthy take out food they're steadily consuming. But the reality is, he's just making excuses for Black women to be lazy, and justifying Black men being played like hen-pecked suckers.

Please help me understand how the guest embarrassed the host. Are you saying the guest was showing higher IQ than the host? The guest doesn't show a simple understanding of roles saying, "I don't even understand the question" when responding to "what are the roles in your relationship?" The guest continues to say, "Roles don't exist. I'm not a white christian man. You are trying to live up to some white supremacist ideal of...." If you are saying that the guest who accuses a black male host of living up to white supremacist ideals because he asked about roles in his relationship as high IQ then please explain. The guest literally responds to a question about roles by saying "Im not white," if this is an higher IQ individual then please explain how? The host then continues to ask a simple question about who builds things within the household and the guest says, "if its a toy for the kids, my wife is better at putting stickers on, so she builds it." the reason why woman used to cook and clean is because they didn't have a traditional 9-5 job that had a paycheque, so they were at home cooking and cleaning, that WAS their job. Men didn't need to cook or clean because they brought in the money.
Brother, if you want your wife to cook and clean, you'd best be taking care of her. If you are putting the entire household responsibility on her, then the ENTIRE financial burden is on you. You need to, by yourself, bring in all the money, pay ALL the bills, and still have enough money left over so your wife doesn't feel like she needs a job because all of her needs AND her wants are taken care of.
If you need her to go to work to meet the financial expectation...then you need to take on part of the household duties too. You can't have it both ways, you can't tell her to work a full time job, then come home and be your housemaid and personal chef too. It doesn't work like that. The husband is right. The woman does manage the house. Most of the married men I know delegate the running of the household daily operation to their wives. The husband will a lot of the times come in with bigger decisions but they both will share the housework as it’s no longer the 1960s. Both parties work and are exhausted. All of these people have been married between 14-45 years, including my own hubby and I. This is about 8 black couples I’m referring to from ages 35 to 65. It’s all teamwork

I don't understand where this mindset comes from. Black families have never adhered to these white patriarchal roles because we have never been able to enjoy the benefits of a one income household. Since slavery both black men and women were required to work. There were no gender roles. Women worked the fields the same as the men. Sometimes the women carried their babies on their backs. When slavery was over black men weren't suddenly able to get the type of employment that would support an entire family so black women had to continue working outside of the home. Why have we forgotten this? These Podcasters want to talk about black relationships but they don't want to deal with our history.

The "nuclear family" model is characteristic of upper and uppermiddle class and when people started to move to the cities. Men were paid enough so women would still work but at home by handling childcare and chores.
Today men and women both work outside of the house so the the children are left at childcare but women are still doing more unpaid work. And this happens in the most equal rights country (sweden) where men participate the most in domestic chores and child raising.

I mean, I work in construction industry. I really dont understand the idea of roles. I appreciate everything my husband does for us, but living together is a cooperation, not a war of egos. I am better at painting the walls, so I do it, he is better at drilling holes into concrete, so he does it, I am better at building something up from wood, so I do it, he is better in elecricity, so he lays cables and solders. You are so correct. He don't have to agree but he needs to be open to trying to understand another perspective. My husband and I got off at the same time with 3 kids that needed to be fed, helped with homework, hair combed and prepare for the next day. On days we had left overs, he would let me go to the gym for a little while. If a woman work continuesly, doing everything, no help, little rest, no time to take care of herself, it won't take long before she start looking like a hag, get sick and break down.

Both my parents worked two jobs coming to the USA, from the Philippines. Both my parents taught me how to cook, clean, and do laundry. They always told me, you need to learn these things for when you have your own family one day. So you can take care of them. I’m going to be teaching my kids the same thing.

Ok. What if both of us get off at 5pm? MY HUSBAND pick up kids. As a mother who just finished working, I'm going home to cook, then clean the kitchen, help with homework, comb hair (the night before with 3 girls) and layout uniforms for the next day. If I didn't get help.... some things were not getting done. Matter of fact, a lot of things would not get done. When I cook, he helped with the homework. When I bathe the kids, he washed the dishes. When I combed hair, he made sure everyone had a clean uniform, shoes, socks and backpacks was in order for an easy morning.
Do these men realize women get tired. The modern woman work outside the house, take care of kids, they want sex, expect her to take care of herself, look good but wants to work her down like a slave. I THANK GOD FOR A MAN WITH UNDERSTANDING AND A SENSE OF FAIRNESS.
